The Mews and Bath Court are recently completed residential developments providing 22 homes on Bath Road, close to the Wells City Centre and designed by the RIBA Award Winning David Brain Partnership of Bath who specialise in conservation work. The Mews project involved the sympathetic restoration and renovation of a vacant Listed Victorian cottage hospital into sensitively designed homes, balancing heritage aspects with the demands of modern day living and harmoniously sitting alongside the construction of contemporary new build mews houses.
Although Wells is the smallest City in England, it punches well above its weight. Nestling on the southern side of the Mendip Hills, its history stems back to the Romans who discovered the springs from which Wells takes its name. The Cathedral and St Cuthbert's Church were built during the Middle Ages, followed by the Vicar's Close which is the oldest intact residential street surviving in Europe and the moated Bishop's Palace which is still the residence of the Bishop of Bath and Wells.
