Check out time 10 a. m. is unacceptable, some people want to sleep until 9.30 and they don't even have time to eat a breakfast. Check in time at 15 is also riduculous. I had to wait 15 minutes to be served in the morning, they gave me toasted bread at the beginning and breakfast came after 15 minutes so the toasts were cold. Rooms very tiny and the size of the sinks is a joke - I have never seen smaller sink in my life. Why you call it a hotel? I will never understand it.

If you are staying in the Isle of Man I can only recommend this hotel. Honestly it was amazing. The owners are some of the nicest people we've ever stayed with. They were awesome. Our ferry was cancelled because of bad weather and they went ou of there way to make sure we had a room in the extended stay. They even gave us late checkout for free because of the weather! Honestly I really cannot say anything bad about our stay.
Its had beautiful rooms, yea OK the bathroom is a little bit small but it's big enough to use etc. Location is amazing - and the on street parking is plentiful. Very very highly recommended.

Better late than never. I stayed with Kevin and Gillian for a week in 2014 at the Devonian, whilst on a research trip for my PhD at the Manx National Heritage Museum. The place was spotless, very clean. My room was lovely and comfortable and I slept well every night, which is rare for me. I looked forward to breakfast every morning. Kevin's eggs benedict was beautiful and set me up for the days!
Nothing was too much trouble for them and they bent over backwards to be of assistance. I wanted to go back, but the PhD didn't work out for health reasons. I'd love to visit again though, Douglas is lovely.

Delightful bed & breakfast, perfectly located near the promenade. I stayed 6 comfortable nights in a cozy, clean and quiet room. The owner, Gillian, is very pleasant, helpful and friendly. The highlight is definitely the breakfast, which is amazing, with a lot of choice to change every day. Precautions are made to ensure your stay is safe. Highly recommend this place in Douglas!

When my husband and I honeymooned on the Isle of Man, we stayed in the Devonian Hotel. It has a great location. We took the Steam Packet in from Belfast and walked from the Sea Terminal with our roller bags in tow. We got a great overview of the main drag and the sea along the way, and the hotel is close to all the downtown attractions like the Villa Marina, Gaiety Theatre, beach, shopping, and restaurants.
When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Kevin, who runs the place with wife Gillian. He gave us the front door passcode and our room key. The building is a converted Victorian, so the stairs up were a little steep. Our room looked exactly like it did on their website. It was bright, cozy, clean, and comfortable. Our bathroom was ensuite and featured a shower.
A cooked to order breakfast was included in their reasonable nightly rate, and it was served in their bright and sunny dining room overseen by Gillian. Servings were so hearty, we often only needed a snack for lunch to tide us over until dinner. During our stay, the Devonian was fully booked almost every night (due to a train enthusiast's convention), so I would recommend making your reservations in advance.
They only accept cash or check for payment in person, but we paid with our credit card via their website. On our last day, Kevin booked our taxi to the airport for a fixed rate. If we return to the Isle, we definitely would stay here again.
