The Wye Valley Hotel is situated in an area of breathtaking natural beauty at Tintern in the heart of the Wye Valley. The Wye River runs through the village less than 100 yards from the hotel. The world Famous 12th Century Tintern Abbey is only a five-minute walk away. The Wye Valley is a paradise for walkers, birdwatchers and those simply wishing to escape the ratrace. The Wye Valley Hotel is an ideal base for touring further into Wales or accross the river to the Forest of Dean.

My fiancee and I actually stayed in a cottage along the road, but frequented this hotel for drinks and food on two separate evenings. The food was absolutely delicious, as were the drinks. The Guinness was the best I have had since I was last in Ireland! The bar is very cosy and all the staff were great. Loved the place

Sue and Barry made us feel very welcome and accommodated our small dog at the last minute when our sitter was struck down with COVID. Our room was light, airy, clean and comfortable - everything we needed was there. The bed was very comfortable with crisp white linen and although the hotel is on a road, the double glazing does a good job of reducing any road noises during the night; with a fan in the room we didn't get too hot.
Breakfast was delicious with proper sausages, thick bacon and eggs that had beautiful orange yolks. Sue is an exceptional cook and this was evident in the evening meals also. Each evening the menu offered different options along with regular meals; we thoroughly enjoyed each of our choices. We loved that we could walk to so many beautiful places from our 'base' and that our evenings in the bar soon felt like we were at home with great conversation and interesting other guests. Thank you Sue and Barry we will come back again to stay.

Unfortunately I think we got you on a bad day but politeness costs nothing. We stopped in on our way through today at 7:15. And we asked could we please order some food. We had looked on the website for last food orders outside which stated 8:30. We were met by a rude bar man who just responded "No not now" with no explanation. I understand places has staff shortages in the current climate but this was just rude.

Very pleasant 2 night stay. The staff were friendly, the establishment was COVID safe and it was clean and well presented. We ate breakfast and our evening meal here and were very impressed. The chips were delicious and the desserts made us happy on the inside. TV and tea making kit in the room, a small but functional bathroom and a reasonably sized bed. It was easy to find, lots of parking spaces and just a short walk from Tintern Abbey. Would absolutely stay here again.
