The Crown Hotel rests on the edge of the river Stour in the rich heartland of Dorset. This elegant 18th century coaching house rose from the ashes of the original Crown Inn following the disastrous fire of 1731. Today of course, the hotel offers our guests and passing visitors every comfort they would come to expect and we're proud to support this with a level and quality of service from days gone by.

Had a Fantastic day out to listen to lots of different Rock n Roll Band's. There was beautiful sunshine all day. Lots of Stall's, refreshments, outside, and a Cafe on the inside.

I thought I would be a big castle as we are use to see all around the England. But it was not. I would recommend the beach view instead of this castle to visit, if someone is planning to visit this area.

Well Castle is stretching it a bit, I know it had a cannon out the front but you would only fit a tennis ball into it. The grounds are nice well kept very tidy. May I suggest looking at Warwick as that is a castle.

Great cafe, with views over the beach, really nice local museum. Will certainly visit again. Had the afternoon tea, a selection of naughty but nice, treats.

The Castle is a great place to visit. It's free and has a great little museum with interesting information about Bude. Lovely art gallery with different artists able to show their work each week. Great cafe with a conservatory overlooking the beach, sea and canal. A must place to visit.

What a great find, I had to pick up a parcel in Bude and popped in as I had an hour to spare. Great exhibit's and the cafe food, very reasonably priced and served with a smile. Recommend the scones and cream. A lovely conservatory to look out over the bay. Well done.

Cool place to take kids, the 3 current art exhibitions were great. My favourites were the animal sculptures and the photography exhibition. Informative museum and amazing that it's free.

Great place inside and out. A quick walk around outside gives a good feel for the place before going inside The interior and galleries are worth at least an hour though younger children might find it a little boring. The gift shop offers the usual themed stuff and the cafe is clean but isn't too pricey. Party dog friendly in that they are allowed in the conservatory but not the castle proper. There are some parking spaces in adjoining streets but these fill quickly. The nearest easy car park is adjacent to the information centre a few minutes walk away.

We visit Bude on a regular basis, for some unknown reason we have never been inside the Castle at Bude. Well, we did today and what can I say, an absolutely fantastic, informative and interesting place to visit. Full of history and memorabilia. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic cafe with stunning views, and free entry! Thanks to all the volunteers for this fantastic place to visit in the middle of stunning Bude
