We went to a music event last night 1st April which was fantastic only to be let down by this venue. The food was seriously awful and inedible. The only choice on the event menu was chicken which was cold, dangerously undercooked with traces of blood, cold veg potatoes possibly reheated etc in fact the only hot thing was the plate! it was sent back twice for 3 members of our party but was left again as it was not worth the risk of becoming unwell and there didn't seem to be any signs of real concern either! the starter was like salty water like a poor cuppa soup but flavourless, not veg soup.
What didn't help was the lighting was so poor that you couldn't see the proper colour of the food either as it was like a ultra violet light that made the soup look orange! there was no other alternative at all or offered to us. This will be taken up with management when we return home, fortunately the music event was great but seriously let down by the venue, not sure what proportion of the 60 per head went to the venue but we all had to eat when we came home.
My wife was also getting the same feedback from other guests about the food, let's hope they will also share their views as it was absolutely disgusting that a chef would allow that to happen let alone the management. The one star given is for the waiting staff who were left to field the dissatisfaction.

Extremely long checking in time meant we weren't able to eat in the hotel restaurant as it was fully booked and it was too late for bar service so we ordered to our room, and hour and 1/2 later we called the desk to ask how long it would be, they said our food had been waiting for us an hour previous but they hadn't brought it to us! Our meals were totally ruined and our children had fallen asleep, fed up waiting!
We were all so tired the next day we left later than we had planned for Peppa pig world only to end up in a huge traffic jam. We left the door hanger for our rooms to be cleaned and left for the day, we weren't aware that room cleaning is not in operation at the moment so we were disappointed to return to unmade rooms. I spoke to front desk and they mentioned that this is a policy you put in place.
I don't feel it makes sense as the room will need to be cleaned before and after our 2 day stay, I don't understand why it cannot be cleaned whilst we are out of the room unless you are deep cleaning after the room has been vacated for 48 hours. I understand there are restrictions due to covid but this was just another inconvenience.

I must start off by saying, the staff are absolutely fantastic and made my stay enjoyable. The reception, bar and eating area are very well maintained and set out. But that's about all there is. Walking to the rooms takes you back to the 1980's, where carpets and hallways smell musty and of damp. Rooms are very minimal and out dated. Mould and damp patches on the ceiling and walls near windows and ceiling panels.
Unfortunately the carpet hadn't been cleaned upon arrival. Holes in the bathroom door that had been filled in and sanded down. 50% of the lights in the room don't work. The bed was clean, the shower was powerful, so that's a plus. I wouldn't stay again for the prices they charge. I'd perfer to spent half the price and stay at a Premier Inn.

We booked a break with the family as part of a weekend at Paultons Park. The hotel was clean and of a good standard, the location was good and the meal in the restaurant in the evening was exceptional value for money. The thing that impressed me most was that service from every member of staff we encountered. Friendly, welcoming and could not be more helpful.
They made the stay really special for the kids, engaging with them, asking them about their day and making sure they had what they wanted. Of particular note was a young lady called Louise in the restaurant who literally could not have done more to help us. A great weekend made all the better by the team at the Apollo. Well done all!

At the Apollo hotel as I write this we are currently in our third room having been allocated 2 previous rooms only to find neither had been cleaned and the room we are currently in had no towels. This is rated as a 4 star hotel and I find it astonishing that it has even achieved a 1 star given our experience. My advice would be to steer well clear even if this means spending more, avoid the stress and enjoy your stay elsewhere

Great staff and nice food, the only letdown was room cleanliness. Mega dust behind radiators, under pull out bed along with a large toe nail clipping, a half used shampoo sachet and the complementary biscuits opened and a half of one eaten. A bit more effort on room cleanliness and it could merit it's 4 star rating.

Lovely welcome and friendly staff. Excellent food and drink. Only issue was the room. It wasn't clean. The coat hook on the back of the bathroom door was broken. There was only one hand and bath towel in the room for both of us to shower with. Sealant is missing from the back of the sink and it just needs updating. Bed was comfy. We were slightly disappointed with the room but otherwise had a fab stay. The staff made our stay.

We got a ambassador room in the ground floor. The hotel has a nice swimming pool which we had to pre-book to use. The room itself was just okay, bit old decor smelled stuffy, toilet had some minor issues. But our stay was made better by the wonderful staff. The serving staff in the brassiere / bar were very helpful. The staff managing the morning breakfast were excellent. Just for the staff in this hotel and their good service, I give them 4 stars.

The staff at Apollo Hotel Basingstoke are kind, considerate, courteous, professional and friendly. They go the extra mile to help make our stays comfortable. The rooms are squeaky clean! I do not get to sleep well away from home, but at the Apollo Hotel Basingstoke, the beds are comfortable and help me get a good nights sleep. My stays at Apollo Hotel are good value for money paid.

I stayed in this hotel after booking an overnight stay with the local theme park Legoland. When we got to the hotel, myself my wife and 9 year old daughter were very pleased with the overall facilities available. The staff were always accommodating and nothing was too much hassle at all. The food from the bar was reasonably priced as far as hotels go and the room was spotless. The breakfast was plentiful and of a very good quality. If I'm ever staying in the area again I will definitely be looking at staying here again.
