A lovely place to get away too. There is a 5km walk that takes you through fields and luckily we got to see deer, cows and lots of interesting birds and insects. It's a lovely hotel and the staff are friendly and helpful. There were two weddings which took place whilst we were there and the setup of the halls and gardens were superb. There were tennis courts there and plenty of parking too.

A few weeks ago, we had the absolute pleasure of having our wedding at the Elvetham. We had been planning our 3-day Indian Fusion wedding for more than a year from overseas, and 3 months prior to our wedding, we had an issue with our original venue and had to scramble to get a new location sorted quickly. We were so relieved to find the Elvetham and could not believe that in contrast to our previous venue, how incredibly we were being treated by Holly and the rest of the team.
They were very accommodating, thoughtful, and excited to host us. Upon arrival, we were blown away by the architecture, the grounds, and the interiors. The rooms having been recently refurbished, meant that every room was beautiful down to the finishing touches. Our guests were so comfortable, and Gaz and Holly as well as the rest of the staff made the experience one for the books.
My husband and I are so grateful that after the hell we had been through with wedding planning, we were able to find such a great place to have our wedding. Thank you, most sincerely, for the incredible treatment!

We stayed there for three nights. I liked the location, the house, the interior, the quality of itself but the service has to improve. The most attentive persons were the girl at the bar who gave me a little history lesson about the hotel and the housekeeping team : Nevertheless a nice stay! We'd come back!

My friend bought me a voucher for afternoon tea for my birthday which we had today. I booked it weeks ago requesting a gluten free option for mine. My gf tea was very different to my friend's, she had 6 finger sandwiches where I had 4, she had a big selection of cakes where I had what looked like a shop bought finger of carrot cake cut into 3 squares and a finger of brownie cut into 3.
The scones were nice but my cream was off and had to be changed. Both teas cost the same but mine was really underwhelming compared to hers which was so disappointing from a fine hotel.

The venue itself is fabulous absolutely stunning. Our room was lovely just a shame the view was of roofs. However what does let this hotel down is the staff. Barman was more interested in putting on the lights than serve us. Breakfast staff totally untrained we watched a family wait 10 minutes while 3 different members of staff cleared & reset the table!
We had to ask twice to set a further place at our table. We then had to ask for coffee no one came round asking us or anyone else if we wanted tea or coffee. No one to greet you at the restaurant & although the cooked breakfast was ok it took the staff ages to refill the items & although breakfast went on until 10.30am by 10am there was hardly anything left. Such a shame as the lack of trained staff are letting down this otherwise amazing venue

Very poor service. Young, friendly staff but noone in charge overseeing them. One of the bar staff was too young to open a bottle of wine! Most guests were sitting outside having a drink but the staff seemed unable to serve us out there. This area was very close to the bar and we had to go in to order our drinks, finding the bar empty of customers and 3 bar staff inside!
Outside furniture broken and dirty and no cushions. very neglected! Not what you would expect for the prices of the rooms. Noisy room, could hear people downstairs once we'd gone to bed and could hear a man snoring next door! Don't stay in Room 103! Beautiful building, amazing gardens but we were very disappointed and won't be back.

Last year myself and my fiancee considered The Elvetham as the venue for our wedding. We were given a tour by a very nice lady who did a great job in walking and talking us through the house with that it has to offer. Unfortunately it was not to be and we ended up choosing another venue although it did make our top 5 favourites! It's a lovely place for a wedding and I would urge anyone to take a look.
We also recently treated family to Afternoon Tea here. This held in the Orangery to the rear of the house overlooking the gardens. Due to it being April the weather could of been better but nothing anyone can do about that! I m'm not really an afternoon tea person so I opted for Pizza and a pint! The chef even made me up a garlic-mayo dip which was lovely but very strong! Anyway, everyone enjoyed their tea, scones, sweets and wine.
One small point to note is that we had made a reservation for the table, however this was not ready upon our arrival which was an inconvenience as we had to wait 20-30 minutes. Other than that the staff were very professional and polite. Also we would of added a tip if there had been an option to do so via the card machine - who carries cash these days?!

Had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return. We had a half board package. Room: our room was spacious and luxurious. The bed was indeed firm but it was no issue (even for me who prefers a softer mattress). The only minor issues were that there was no fresh milk in the room despite having a fridge (only whitener in the hospitality tray) and the shower in the morning never quite became hot enough, though it wasn't so cold that my partner couldn't shave.
Our views were lovely and the room was very quiet. Grounds/Hotel: absolutely gorgeous. We did the 3km walk which wasn't hugely scenic, but was very nice to have on the doorstep. The bar and restaurant were lovely with views to die for. Service: there were some minor issues and lack of attention to detail. Many staff seemed to be new and quite nervous.
We were surprised no one asked if we'd like help with our bags to the second floor (no lift). Though this wasn't an issue for us, for some it might be a challenge! Food: However, at dinner, they were very attentive, particularly when I mentioned my allergy and the dinner in the evening was outstanding. Breakfast was acceptable but as with most buffets, the food could have been hotter.
The coffee was very weak and we weren't offered milk at the table. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as it's very good value for money, but there are a few minor issues preventing it from being an exceptional hotel.

The setting is great. The room was great. That's where the great ends unfortunately. Booked dinner for 7:30. No-one to greet you at the dining room. Stood for 5 minutes. Finally sat down. No drinks ordered until 7:55. Food average, service quite laughably bad (waiters unfamiliar with wine, stretching over you to pour water etc.) Breakfast much the same service wise.
Poor choice of cold food and fruit. Frankly inedible hot buffet. Cheap sausages, hash browns reduced to what looked like sawdust, overcooked bacon, 'scrambled egg' looked like a glutinous mass that you would've needed a knife to get through and a lack of fried eggs available. Complete lack of direction when it came to dining room service. For such a beautiful place it's completely let down by the lack of competent service from the majority of the dining room staff, however the exceptions were the young lady at the bar (who was literally juggling plates and drinks trying to keep up) and the older gentleman in the dining room. Such a shame that The Elvetham has been cheapened by a lack of investment both financially and in their staff training. Date of visit: 8th January 2022.

Stayed as a family of four and couldn't have enjoyed it more! Steeped in rich history, adorned in paintings, carvings, stained glass windows and beautiful countryside. The children were fascinated by the connection to Royalty and loved exploring the hotel and grounds. Leo, the Reception Manager, was amazing! He bent over backwards to make the children feel welcome.
Thank you Leo :- We have already booked to come back next New Year's Eve! Thank you for making it such a special weekend and thanks to all the staff who were working on New Years Eve and Day!

We were here for a wedding and a great time was had by all. The building itself is magnificent and well worth a look round. The wedding breakfast was nice and the serving staff well organised, the drinks were over priced but that is hotels for you. Our room was great with a really nice walk in shower and a bath, but no bath towels! Which was only discovered after my wife had her shower.

We visited The Elvetham Tuesday 5th October 2021 for a menu tasting in preparation for my Son's Wedding in December 2021. Hats off to The Chef and his brigade for preparing 4 x starters, mains and puddings to try. Every dish was amazingly presented, delicious and timed perfectly. The process made it easy for my son and his fiancee to make their final choices for their Big Day.
The front of house team was equally as impressive. Charlie was our waitress (not sure how to spell her name), and she provided a fantastic experience for the four of us. We left feeling like we had experienced world-class service and confident that the Wedding will be a day to remember. Well done, Team Elvetham!

This is an absolutely fabulous stately home. We went for an executive King bedroom. I'm so glad we did and paid the bit extra. The room is spacious clean and has 3 turreted windows overlooking the outstanding lawns and gardens at the rear of the hotel. What a pleasure the place has turned out. Highly recommend. Go for room 109. Brilliant!

This is a beautiful country house with period features throughout. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had the original sash windows which was lovely. The bathroom had a tiled floor and walls and a bath with shower. The shower was lovely and hot. The room had a fridge, kettle, iron and fan all worked great. The TV was large (around 42 inches) and had Chromecast built in which meant you could watch anything cast from your phone. We really enjoyed our stay and it was lovely place to spend our 7 year wedding anniversary.

We had a very nice lunch there in lovely surroundings, with friendly staff. Then a walk around the beautiful grounds. Would like to have looked inside the church but was locked up. The public rooms are so characterful & must be an atmospheric venue for a wedding, especially if you can use the church.
