The room was nice, tidy and clean. The hot water in shower was not warm enough. The waiting for breakfast was more than half an hour even we were alone in the restaurant. The tea got cold until we got the meal finally and it didn't look like was just finished. But it was nice. The staff was nice and helpful.

Obviously lovely refurbished but perhaps on opening rooms should have been at a reduced rate to iron out snags a) bar closed just on 23:00 hours. Despite being resident could not get a drink to take up to my room. Was told closed and when I asked if they could just pour us a drink and would take up to room and pay the next day, still not allowed and suggested we could go to Weatherspoons!
Even though manager was there, she got a member of staff to talk to us. b) breakfast menu bore no resemblance to that shown on the website, indeed not even the same as that on some cheaply printed A4 docs in the room c) asked for full English, informed no mushrooms nor sausages (despite a Sainsburys a few yards up the road. My friend said she didn't like soar bread and informed that's all there was. Asked for marmalade and told didn't have any, well actually first informed they don't serve marmalade for breakfast?!?
Only paper cups available to put tea in, eventually tracked down member of staff and obtained ceramic mugs. d) waited over 30mins for breakfast to come despite only one couple waiting before us e) hopelessly understaffed at breakfast f) when going down the stairs to use the toilets, there were several boxes full of provisions at the bottom of the staircase, which not only looked unprofessional, but restricted access

I arrived here with my wife, 8 year old son & 72 year old mother and met with a cold reception. It took them almost 10 minutes just to open the front door. They wouldn't allow us in since it was not yet 3 p.m. Breakfast was okay, but service was pathetic. After barely 3 days, they turned us out citing Covid restrictions. We were given barely 24 hours to find alternative lodgings and were forced to move out to Airbnb accommodation that we were lucky enough to find. Definitely, one of the worst experiences in my life.
