Pennyhill Park Hotel

Came for a spa day and had a wonderful time. Had a fab back massage and facial - the ladies in the spa are absolutely amazing. Both the indoor and outdoor pool were delightful, we spent the day on the comfy sun loungers by the outdoor pool as it was a beautiful day. Both pools were heated to a nice temperature and the outdoor jacuzzis were lovely and warm. Food was also fabulous with lots of choice. Cannot fault the day - had a lovely experience and the facilities and staff were superb. Will definitely be back.

Pennyhill Park is superb! We spent 2 nights and the management and staff could not have been kinder, made us more welcome or been more professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We look forward to visiting again soon and would have no hesitation in recommending it. The hotel is beautiful and the hospitality second to none. Thank you for giving us the most memorable stay.

We have been quite disappointed this time with our stay at the Pennyhill Park Hotel. The bathroom for one did not have a hand rail in the shower for older people to hold onto. No shelf to put the soap on; no anti-slippery mat. The bottles of shampoo and body soap were too large to use, and extremely impractical. No soap bar. The room was not properly checked before our arrival; both telephones were out of order.

One of the radiators did not work, the other two took more than 30 hours to heat. No adequate chest of drawers. Housekeeping had not emptied the rubbish bins and left all the lights on. However, the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The setting is superb. The food is very nice.

Our Suite was very comfortable indeed. Love Molton Brown toiletries too! All staff were very polite and accommodating. Super dinner in Hillfield - the Venison Wellington is excellent - and a great variety for breakfast. Used the Spa for a couple of hours upon arrival, and deemed it necessary to squeeze in another hour the next morning. The scented steam rooms are divine. A thoroughly enjoyable stay feeling looked after in luxury.

This is my home away from home. When I need a break and a fantastic spa, we come here. Food quality is always great. Front of house & spa team are lovely. Hillfield restaurant (formerly known as the brasserie), the service has seemed to slip, we arrived and the team member turned her back to us. It took ages to get someone's attention at dinner and especially at breakfast- this never used to be the case.

I think due to Covid some things changed and it would be lovely if they returned. I miss the porters, vanity kits, buffet breakfast, pillow menus and service in the restaurant. Nevertheless this is the place for a break when you don't want to travel to far.

Amazing, as always. The spa has had some new additions in the thermal heaven since I was last here which were fabulous and I love what's been done with the restaurant space. Stunning equine inspired suites with huge floor space and all the trappings you would expect from this property.

Visited for Valentine's day weekend. The highlight really is the spa area. We had an afternoon wine and waited for the sun to set so we could enjoy the outside pools with the stars. Really lovely and very clean in the spa area. They gave us a room upgrade to a massive room, which was also lovely. Would recommend if you're looking for a spa escape.

We had the most wonderful Afternoon Tea. Beautiful, stunning setting. Fabulous quality food. Incredible attention to detail. Immaculate, professional staff Loved every minute.

This hotel has been spoken about amongst friends and social media for a long time so we thought we would give it a try. It's a huge hotel with a lot to offer. Fantastic evening meal. Just lacked attention to detail for us, we paid a fair amount of money for a one night stay at this 5* hotel but sadly didn't have the wow factor I expected. Small things like; food crumbs on the windowsill for breakfast, leaves in the pool and the spa (particularly by the large indoor pool) looks generally 'tired'. Probably wouldn't go back.

Stunning setting to outstanding food and activities. Great staff, knowledgeable and always willing to help. Their bakery is out of this world, so breakfast can turn into the biggest meal of the day! Highly recommended for that special occasion in your life.

Excellent service from well trained staff in an exclusive environment. The tasting menu was first class but even the standard of food in the Castle Inn could not be faulted. The golf course had some quirky holes but was an enjoyable experience which was only detracted from by the disease on some of the greens. We will be returning!

Excellent, staff were amazing, the location was very picturesque and the rooms as expected 5 star. We did try the pub for food, it's was disappointing, very average. I will return but will eat at the house.

Who can not give to this hotel five stars? There is an impressive view of the hotel as you approach along the driveway. The staff are friendly and welcoming, during our stay nothing was a problem. We went for a walk in the extensive and well maintained grounds. The casual dining was very good and the bar after was excellent with a good range of drinks. We had two cottages which were very comfortable and well looked after.

Quality of food was good. Wide choice of teas. Service and (sandwich) choice limited - stray outside the set and it becomes a problem to them (asked for ham without mustard.) We have had better afternoon tea experiences - at higher and lower prices, but only one worse.

Love this place. Stayed in the mews this time and another perfect room. Luxory touches every where. The settings are wonderful and so picturesque. Staff so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Will be back again soon

It's a quality golf course and a bargain at the twilight rate. Greens are good, probably roll about 9.5 ish. Only downside is that the bunkers are pretty poor, depth of sand variable and would expect a higher premium based on the quality of everything else. That being said it's a great golf course.

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful setting, fantastic rooms and the staff are very attentive. The food was delicious and the mixologist was very knowledgeable. We couldn't have asked for a better 2 night stay to celebrate our anniversary.

I did not stay in the hotel but I had a very bad experience there. I and my 4 years old son were visiting Castle Combe and a hotel employee from The Manor House treated us extremely bad. That ruined my entire day. After we visited the church in the city, we acessed a small path behind the church garden that leaded us to a small street with houses and a beautiful garden.

There was no gate or any sign of private property so I and my little son keeped walking towards the building. At the entrance, I could see that it was a hotel and unfortunately was not available for visitors. I was about to leave the property when my son climbed a stairs (outside) near the hotel entrance. I just followed him when a employee came to me and asked if I was part of the wedding party.

I replay I was not and I apologized. She did not care and in a very rude manner, she said: You need to leave! Then she turned her back on me and returned to the building. I immediately took my son and left the place. That rudeness really made me feel terrible. The hotel should not allow employees to treat visitors (or potential guests) in such a terrible way. I left the place with a awful feeling and wishing nobody experience the same.

The best golf course by far in and around the Bristol area. You will not be disappointed when you play this course. Greens were very fast. I always enjoy coming back to this course

Firstly the hotel and village are beautiful, the food and drinks outstanding but most of all the staff were second to none, so helpful towards us and our young family. Would definitely recommend a stay and hopefully we will return one day.

We stayed here two nights back in March for a friend's wedding and it was such a divine experience. I felt like we had stepped back in time. The English manor is beautiful and the gardens well-kept. Our room was very tiny but it was suitable for the two of us and we spent very little time in there anyways. The shower had one of those waterfall heads and was absolutely luxurious!

The food and drinks were great and our friends' wedding was successful. I even misplaced my camera one night and the next morning the staff at the front desk had it waiting for me. I definitely recommend checking out this hotel/venue if you are in Ware.

Beautiful outside areas, especially because it was complemented by such good weather! The dining area was fancy and the set menu dinner was great (though the cheese selection was a bit lame). The buffet style English breakfast was meh but the lunch salad bar was pretty good. Complimentary popcorn station, huge stashes of candy, fruits, and cookies stashed here and there around the hotel.

Friendly staff and bar staff. The room was small but nice, very clean and comfortable. I'm especially picky about pillow consistency and height, but had very good sleep here. Small flatscreen tv with Sky with all the amenities, blowdryer, kettle, etc in the room. Most disappointing part was there was no pool, but that's about it!
