A superb Palladian mansion set in one of the West Country's most romantic estates, Ston Easton Park exudes elegance, warmth and comfort. Log fires burn, comfortable antique furniture and exquisite paintings beckon, evoking memories of a more leisured age and providing a welcome you might associate with a magnificent private country house. There is little that can compare with the well preserved classicism of Ston Easton Park.

Just enjoyed the most relaxing afternoon tea I have ever had, the staff, food and views were amazing. This was a gift from friends and was very much appreciated, I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away from the stresses of life for a few hours. Now alas back to reality!

Best scones on the planet - crunchy on the outside/fluffy on the inside -- served warm straight from the oven (not from microwave) and no problem at all when asked for more cream. Good selection of sandwiches with deep fillings. Building and interior tired but could not fault the Cream Tea.

Just to say "thank you" for our works meal last Friday. We all enjoyed your delicious food and the evening was everything we hoped for. Great service and great food. Please thank your staff for all their hard work and being so friendly and helpful.

We went today as a party of 11 for an aunties birthday. We booked for afternoon festive tea. We were sat in a room downstairs, poor lighting and not a single decoration, fairy light or candle in sight. Pots of tea were brought in and placed on the table, we had barely any teaspoons and no sugar. Tiers of sandwiches scones and cakes were brought in, each one was to serve 3 people.

The sandwiches were very dry but the scones and cakes were lovely. During the 4 hours we were there not one member of staff came down to see us or ask if we needed anything. At one stage one of us had to go and ask for some more tea at which point we were given a pot of hot water to pour into our already used cold loose leaf tea! This was undrinkable!

The only reason we stayed was because it was a family occasion and had a lot to catch up on. It was appalling over priced with no service. We paid 22.50 each but their prices have gone up again aparantly! Such a shame as with a little effort it could have been so lovely but we won't be going back!

Absolutely fantastic! I stayed for just one night, had afternoon tea which was delicious, and then dinner which was equally amazing. I was fortunate enough to stay in one of their Superior rooms and I highly recommend it. Overall a thoroughly amazing time was had!

Gosh, what a lovely surprise to find a warm welcome to this traditional country house hotel with log fires, lovely friendly service, very comfortable rooms and a very good chef. We had a wonderful time with friends staying overnight so could really enjoy ourselves. Lovely afternoon champagne tea. Wonderful three course dinner, lovely wines. Good night's sleep. Highly recommended.

We first went to the restaurant here and loved the food and atmosphere so much that we came back to get married here! The grounds are amazing and the food is worth more than its 2 AA rosettes. The staff are impeccable and trained to the highest standard. The hotel and rooms are extremely luxurious - we felt like royalty. I'd live here if I could!

If you are looking for a relaxing weekend break in a unique setting with your dog, I would strongly recommend SEP - despite some minor cosmetic updating needed in places this does not take away anything at all from this unique listed hotel. The food and level of service from the attentive members of staff matched the well kept grounds. The only slight negative I would suggest was that some of the residents took advantage of the hotels relaxed attitude to dogs and didn't clean up after their own four-legged friends as they should.

I think the hotel should provide a roll of bags to all dog owning residents so there are no excuses. Over all we had a great break, were well looked after and we would gladly recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel excellent service for the whole of our stay. I stayed in the cottage on the grounds which initially I was a dubious about but I am very glad that I did. The food was to the highest level of preparation and quality. I recommend everything about this hotel. The views the service everything about it was great.

Was here for lunch in July, very disappointed because they had a garden party so lunch was very limited. I will be going back this visit to amend my opinion so far.

Eight of us met to celebrate two 70th birthdays. The staff were friendly and fun and looked after us so well, even giving us our own private room for breakfast. Nice touch in being taken to the room to sign in rather than hang around at reception. Lovely grounds to walk around, good baths / showers, comfy beds, superb rooms and good food. Thank you to all at Ston Easton who made it so special.

You're staying in a beautiful old country manor home. The floor boards creak, and the furniture and decorating will constantly remind you that you're staying in a special place. The gardens and setting are absolutely lovely. We very much enjoyed sitting out back each evening for cocktails. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Though the one window opened, our room didn't have much air circulation, and would have been uncomfortably hot and stuffy without a fan that the staff was nice enough to locate for us. We'd be reluctant to return during the warmer summer months. Enjoyed the one dinner we had there, though (and we are foodies) the dishes were a little too over thought and unnecessarily complex.

With the two of us having different plates each course, out of only 4 offerings per course, we sampled half of the available plates in one setting. Since the menu was identical the next night, it made me very glad we'd not chosen the dinner option over multiple nights included when booking. Just a personal preference, but would very much have preferred to see simpler preparations using the fresh local ingredients and providing a somewhat broader selection.

We really wanted to have our remaining dinners at local pubs, and asked at the front desk for recommendations. We were presented with a page of what turned out to be rather out of date suggestions, and it seemed that none of the available staff had ever actually eaten in the area restaurants. One of the two restaurants listed had actually been closed for months before our arrival.

Another pub listed as a steak house had actually been reopened with a completely different menu many months earlier. So don't rely on the staff to help with nearby dining options. But we'd personally recommend Mezze at the Warwick Arms in Clutton and The Somerset Wagon in Chilcompton. Both were superb and only a very short drive. Breakfast was excellent every day and again the staff and service was wonderful.

We wondered if, as casual travelers, we were staying in an appropriate place, however beautiful. The other guests in the dining and lounge rooms were nearly all elderly and very well dressed. The wife commented that she felt uncomfortable walking through the common rooms in simple smart casual attire. I'm honestly not sure we are in Ston Easton's target market; and felt a little better each time we'd run across some similarly casual couple. Don't know exactly what the inn can do, but would help they'd broaden their appeal to a younger and somewhat more casual base a little over time.

Our stay here was excellent in every way. Even down to the menu not changing over the 3 days we were there and the chef cooking us something not on the menu. We were lucky enough to have several helicopters arrive and take off whilst we sat in the window bays of our room and looked on. The staff were always available for our littlest whim and always polite, friendly and professional. The house is stunning, the grounds expansive and the afternoon tea to be recommended if you're just in the area.
