We offer great value for money for those people wanting Bed & Breakfast Hotels at budget accommodation prices with good, clean rooms in the heart of the city. We are similarly priced to many a Guest House less favourably positioned and are the nearest Bed and Breakfast Accommodation to the Bath Abbey and the Tourist Information Centre. To maintain these prices we operate as a B & B and include a continental breakfast and therefore do not have hotel services.

Didnt stay due to rancid smell of smoke in room and corridors, Fresh smoke in corridors same for both our rooms, paid them but refused us the refund Rooms were old worn out and pokey not the value they charge ATTENTION! Check Room First before paying Staff was polite when entering then went into hard nosed defensive mode when we discussed the issues and demanding our money back. Shabby half way house with funded tenents if you know what I mean Booked 4 weeks in advance as part of holiday and gave us seperate rooms in different parts of the attic, not good if a fire breaks out, Oh and they inspected the areas of concern and sprayed air freshener and asked us to look again, ,, That Was The Manager BTW!
We were then stranded in Bath at 8pm with no where to go, so we cut the holiday short and drove 90 miles back home also had to lose money on our next hotel in Wales which we booked to follow on from Bath Bad people with jo values or care for your safety, Money Money Money! Thats all they care about.

This beautiful building is falling into disrepair by the owners. Unfortunately, the pictures do not reflect the state of the rooms. We rejected the room in the basement due to the risk of debris falling from the ceiling, the copious amount of mould in the shower, the exposed concrete sub-floor which did not have any lino or tile and the squalid toilet that had not been sufficiently cleaned.
The room on the ground floor was only marginally better but again the inability to clean the bathroom was apparent by the grimy shower with brown smeared stains in the grouting and a dirty toilet. We were finally offered a room on the first floor which was an improvement from the rooms on the lower floors. There was no manager available to speak to during my visit nor was there any housekeeper on-site to adequately address the cleaning problems.
To add insult to injury reception staff even called to ask if we wanted our room cleaned. We were left to change our own bed linen and had to request for the bin to be emptied. On our last day we managed to speak to the manager 'Christina' who failed to apologise for the state of rooms and numerous issues as was also incredibly rude so its no surprise that there is a high turnover of staff if this is an example of the good management/leadership.
The only good thing is that we did not book breakfast as if you can't keep your toilets clean then I dread to think what the level of cleanliness was like in the kitchen. I'm not sure how this hotel is still trading or why booking.com have not removed them from their listing.

The hotel is in a good location but on our visit the housekeeping let them down. UPDATE - Having complained to the Manager by email on our return home we still have had no reply of any sort from this hotel. Dropping my rating from 3 stars to 1 because of this. Only getting the 1 because of the location.

Hotel Marigold comes to Bath! Lovely helpful people running the place - all credit to them - but it smacks of Dehli Chic (with Bollywood movies playing in the bar) rather run down and a bit sad to see such a grand Georgian house needing a lot of love - the sheets were clean - the room cold but the lovely receptionist struggled up three flights of stairs with an electric heater for us as the heating was 'off'.
A true sub continent experience without the hassle of flying. Only one night for us fortunately, not a place to stay too long in, but a cheap room in the centre of town so did for us okay. Don't expect too much. The team there trying their best and 100%.

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. I can't believe it's allowed to stay open to be honest. It's run down beyond belief. The insides are literally crumbling. Only one curtain was up that meant half the window wasn't covered. The mattress was clearly very old and had sunk giving no support at all. The room itself had a severe slope to it. Felt like I was on a boat.
The carpet was stained everywhere with God knows what. Windows didn't fully close which meant you could hear everything outside. Bathroom was like something out of the Saw. Sockets weren't fitted to the wall correctly. There was a hole in the wall. Strange white marks all over the bathroom floor. I could go on forever at how vile this place is. Felt like I needed a clean after getting out of the shower.
On top of all that it is right next a nightclub that is open until 4am. The mammoth queue and smoking area for which Is just outside the hotel. I couldn't hear myself think, let alone sleep. Worst 150 I've ever spent. I hope this place gets shut down ASAP. I'll be reporting them.

Do not stay here. Don't be fooled by the photos on here. It's a very dated tired and damp building. Next door to a noisy club which is open till early hours. With no double glazing you wont sleep. 3 very high flights of stairs not warned about we were stuck in a damp, cold, basic and dirty attic room. Reception staff very rude. For the overrated price you would expect better. Even 50 a night is 40 to much. Ruined our stay we left 36 hours early

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Bath is an expensive city to stay in and this hotel is certainly at the cheaper end of the price range. Perfect for a lads' weekend.maybe not for a romantic getaway. Im pretty sure that the room hadn't been cleaned as the bin still contained the remains of a fish and chip takeaway left by the previous occupants. The staff were good fun and we were invited to the manager's leaving drinks/party on our second night. Would definitely stay again.

Worst Hotel I've ever stayed at. Honestly don't know where to begin. Rooms are gross. There was 1 small broken chair in my room (and cushions beneath the windows) that looked like they should've been thrown out/burned 100 years ago. There is no AC, no fan. Worst of all there is an INSANELY LOUD 4AM nightclub next door. We stayed here on a TUESDAY!
We got 2 rooms that night. Our friends room (next to our room (2nd or 3rd floor)) had earplugs on their nightstands, our room did not. Friends couldn't handle the noise & booked a different hotel that night. We stayed the night but didn't get 1 minute of sleep. The windows in the hotel are probably as old as the 100 year old couch & provide no outside soundproofing.
Can't stress how loud this place is. Let me set the stage for your night here : You'll plan on getting a nice sleep only to find yourself laying in bed and hearing a massive crowd of people talking/screaming/fighting until 4am. Then when you think it's all over, you will hear seagulls squawking from 4am-7am. Then when you think it's all over, you'll hear a constant "dinging" noise coming from the pedestrian call/walking button from the street below from 7am onward.
I'd give it 0 stars if I could, but since I have to give it 1, I'd say the people working there were nice and it is in a very nice location. But unless you are deaf or clubbing until 4am. DO.NOT.STAY.HERE

Had a great stay here, the location was amazing and the staff are really friendly. Room was small but clean/comfortable. The hotel is a little dated but what do you expect from a grade ll listed Georgian building! Be aware bath has a large seagull population and you will here there wherever you are. We found them hilarious as they sounded like they were all chatting with even names one Steven!

I pre-paid a 4 night stay at a rate of $125 per night, * I had to carry 50 pounds of luggage up 4 flights of stairs. They don't have lifts. * The room was dingy with a musty odor. * There were paint blisters on the wall next to the bathroom sink. * The shower/tub wall lamination was peeling off. * The window frames were completely rotten. * The WiFi was too slow to use.
I ended using the HotSpot on my cell phone to connect to my laptop. After 1 night I left and booked myself into the Francis 4 star hotel in Bath for a few pounds more but it was well worth it.

Disappointing and expensive for the lackluster experience. Glad we didn't spend much time in the room. This advertised hotel-slash-bed-and-breakfast is in a very convenient location, just a minute from the center of town and Bath Abbey. The bar is nice, clean, and pleasant, and the hotel provides any and all pamphlets about local events and activities.
The reception at the front desk was hurried and opinionated. While we were given a variety of maps and pamphlets, the customer service was lackluster and rather unpleasant, not helped by the fact that the hotel did not provide access to a computer or telephone so that we could just book the tours and tickets ourselves. Rooms were spacious, but sparsely furnished.
For a room with three beds, including one double, one chair and one unbalanced barstool is not enough. Not to mention that the walls were completely empty in what could have been a charming room layout. Additionally, the location and fact that our window was off its cord and would not close, made the sounds of the seagulls and people in the streets much too loud for restful sleep.
Breakfast was a cursory display of hardboiled eggs, toast, cereal, and packaged muffins, which was satisfactory, and unhurried. Overall, the experience was set up like that of a large hotel (without the benefits), in the building of a bed and breakfast (without the warmth and comfort).

Oh boy, I have been dreading writing this review. The good: a quick 6 minute walk from the train station and a central location. The bartender was super friendly. The bar is very quiet and I ended up befriending him. The ridiculous: you are assigned tables for breakfast! Is it possible they do not trust you to choose your own seating? Why do they not allow you to sit where ever you so desire?
I was stunned I was told to sit at the table that had my room number! The breakfast room was empty, except for another couple, and I wanted to sit by the window. I am a solo traveler and a window seating allows me a simple luxury to daydream in this gorgeous city. I quickly told the server I preferred sitting by the window, and to my surprise, she took my table number, which had been placed on a small table by the hallway, right in the centre of people flow, and put it on another table by the window (not the one where I was standing).
This is a strange and ridiculous custom and I hope they drop it like a hot potato. The bad: breakfast options are very limited: corn flakes, plain yogurt, hard boiled egg, cottage cheese, toast. It's a good thing I love corn flakes, but given a choice, I would have had a warm, home made meal. Wi-fi was not working in my room. No air conditioning - terrible on a hot, muggy night. The worst: shared bathrooms - ugh! No opportunity to take a bath. For the price I paid, I was expecting better and instead, I was ripped off.

I booked this hotel via Late Rooms, so got a great last-minute deal (single room/1 night for 49). The room was clean and relatively quiet, I had everything I needed, the (shared) showers were clean and well looked-after. The chap on reception was friendly and helpful and the general feel of the place was pretty good. So, getting some sleep-wise, I'd give it a 4 - functional and tidy.
Good value for money. The problems start when your well-rested coeliac gets up. 'Continental Breakfast' can mean almost anything, and in this case it means toast, toast and more toast. More than a little frustrating if you're basically allergic to toast. Points off for no breakfast. More points off for describing this breakfast as 'free' when it is, in fact, just included in the price of the room and actually represents very poor value.
The hotel bar is a big shouty mess of Ben Sherman boys. Not the most relaxing place to head for a nightcap, but fortunately there are several good pubs nearby. I'd stay here again if I had to (and I'd take my own brekkie or plan to head out to The Boston Tea Party), but I'd look elsewhere first.
