If the original Marquis of Queensberry could fashion twelve rules to create decency and order from the potential chaos of boxing, then surely we - in honour of the man after whom we are named - can do likewise for hospitality? Rules prevent us from drowning in confusion and mayhem. They codify and simplify: the rules of nature (water will not run uphill); the rules of decency (no, after YOU ); and now, the New Queensberry Rules. Like the originals, there are twelve, like the originals, they are no more than common sense.
We love to work with other local businesses. Being independent and part of a strong Bath and West Country economy matters to us, so there is more than talking about it, we do it. Whether it is food businesses, casinos, tour operators, florists or specialists in adrenaline sports, if they are good at what they do and can help you enjoy Bath even more, then of course we want to point you in their direction (and offer you some great deals at the same time). We try to use local and regional companies, too, to help us with our work, from marketing and websites to all kinds of design.
Want to work with the best in the game? We're on the hunt for likeminded persons who are not afraid of a hard day's work in a professional award-winning setting, confident and passionate about creating incredible food and experiences for our guests. Several specific positions exist across both our multi-award-winning boutique hotel and restaurant, but for us, it's also strongly about YOU as an individual.
Here at The Queensberry Hotel and Olive Tree Restaurant, we are as proud as punch to be a Living Wage Employer. This accreditation is something that is very close to our hearts and deeply important to us, particularly being a hospitality business based here in the South West (a region where almost a fifth of all jobs - 18.1% - pay less than the real Living Wage - which equates to around 424,000 jobs). We are a multi-award-winning business only because of our team, without them, we would not have these shiny accolades.

Expensive room that had no fridge, no kettle, no functioning radiator and no teas and coffees put out. Mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin so you can hear the neighbouring guests snoring. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel! There was a tower heater but it was really loud to sleep with even if we could get past the neighbouring guests snoring. If I could give this a 0 star I would.

We were in room 11. The bathroom and wardrobe were down some stairs and the bed was only 4ft 6 - 5ft. At 6am the air conditioning fan for the kitchens started right outside our window and was very noisy, so no sleep after that. Breakfast was fine but when ordering toast only one slice arrived. We ordered some more and another single slice arrived. Maybe there was shortage? :)). At over 212 for the night, I certainly wouldn't go back.

Posting a review here, in addition to my review on Booking.com because I can reply to any responses from the hotel on this platform. I stayed at the hotel for 1 night and have the following comments: - I would have booked a hotel nearer to the "city centre" given we had to leave our bags etc before check in and after check out - and then head to the train station which is on the opposite side of the city; - Bathtub looked great and was looking forward to a proper bath. but drainage was slow and I gave up on it.
It also made it really slippery after first use; - The heater in my room was broken and had to be left on max - this made my room pretty uncomfortable. Windows were left open and had to request for an additional fan. Now contrary to the Hotel's response on Booking.com, I was not offered another room - but yes, I agree that the staff were very concerned and tried to help as much as they could; Now on the positive, the hotel is very modern and elegant.
Staff were very friendly in general. Although at checkout, I was asked if my bill was OK, instead of being asked how my stay was (which I heard them say to every other guests) I would say overall, the 200+ bill wasn't value for money from my perspective

This is the best hotel I have ever visited. Less of a hotel more of an experience! Staff are 20/10, so friendly, and happy to help! Valet service! Drop you car outside anytime, they'll park it! Room decor is on point, quirky and not over the top. It's how you'd imagine a room in your perfect world! Super comfy beds, super clean rooms! I want to live here!

This hotel is absolutely incredible! From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave and every minute in between the staff cannot do enough for you. The hotel is spotless, the beds are so comfortable you may not want to actually go anywhere at all and I should warn you, the showers in the rooms are so incredible that all and any showers you have after it will be a thorough disappointment.
