On the way back from The Lakes we stopped at Rusland Pool Hotel for a meal. We've passed many times, never called in as you tend to think "let's get where we're going", or "let's get home now". It was a very pleasant stop off, the meals were lovely, and the staff very welcoming. Don't pass by, call in, break up your journey, we shall be returning. Thank you very much for a great meal.

Love this place, staff extremely helpful and friendly, food like your mother used to cook, in a great location too. Room was really clean, What more do you want? Great for visiting surround places like Newby Bridge and Fell Foot! Just wanted to add that this morning I left my tablet in the room and the owners rang me straight away to tell me it was safe behind reception, thank you so much Rusland Pool ill defo be back

Had a sit down in restaurant meal.starter was haggis with black pudding and an egg on top. Plate was actually stone cold.egg was totally stone cold and the yoke had slipped off the white and was swimming around on the plate on its own. The main was nothing to write home about at all.all overpriced. I did complain about the egg and the cold plate to no avail.the dish should never have been served to me in that state anyway.especially when the staff pointed it out to me.even the waitress mentioned the fact that the egg had broken up.but still served it to me.won't be going again!

Took my parents for my Mothers birthday meal, we all plumped for the 6 oz rump steak. At 12 for the steak served with a few chips and mushrooms thought it should be reasonable. All three steaks were tough and gristly, My Mother was the only one of us with sense enough to complain and had another steak cooked for her which was slightly better quality but under cooked.
After all three mentioned it after the end of the meal the staff member had a word with the cook who told her he would mention it to his meat supplier. In all 50 for four soft drinks some chips and a piece of warm rubber. Nice staff though to whom my Mother still gave a good tip

Rusland Pool is in a lovely setting next to it's namesake pool on the A590, between Newby Bridge and Ulverston. It has a bar, and restaurant. Diner at the later works out at about a fiver for a starter, around 10 main courses and 4.25 for sweets. Accomodation costs are Double or Twin Room for 76.00, Single occupancy from 55.00 Family Room 89 and Four Poster 84 Children rates are:-Aged 2-9 years 10 per child per night Aged 10-14 years 20 per child per night
