We stayed here for 3 nights in Room 3. This guest house and it's owner, Barbara, are amazing. It was absolutely spotless. The breakfasts were plentiful, lots of choice and very tasty. The views are stunning. We loved the honesty area, very reasonably priced and well stocked. We would definitely love to come back. Highly recommend the Penellen.

Fabulous B n B with stunning views of St ives bay and the beaches, the rooms are well decorated and modern style and very very clean, breakfast is plentiful if you want cereal, toast or cooked breakfast if u want, I just had the full English which was enjoyable and set me up for the day, would definitely recommend this place to anyone, gorgeous location, the host barbera and her husband are lovely down to earth folk and very welcoming.

Outstanding place. Right on the beach. And it's certainly earned it's award of friendliest B&B.

Enjoyed our stay here although one or two things put me off from coming next year, which is a shame. We stayed in the Dolphin suite and had issues with poor ventilation from the bathrooms and one particular room had a very musty damp smell about it, after looking around I found quite a few traces of damp which appears to have been recently painted over.

The WiFi is also quite poor at this bungalow which is bitter sweet because it's nice to be away from the phone but it's also nice to be able to send family photos etc That being said, we did enjoy our stay here. The location is ideal! We were told about price increases for next year which I'm sorry to say, I feel isn't worth it.

Beautiful room with stunning views of the sea. Barbara was an excellent host who was very helpful and the full English breakfast was perfect.lovely break away for me and my partner and will definitely be coming back

Just had a couple of days at the Penellen hotel. The view was stunning, the room was spotlessly clean, breakfast was perfect and Barbara was helpful, attentive and friendly. The Penellen has just gained 2 regulars. Thank you Barbara for ensuring that we had a lovely weekend away, Lesley and Jason

I've one day to go for stopping here a few days. I would recommend this place to anyone.beautiful location 5 mins walk from the beach.very friendly people and lovely sea views from your bedroom window.would definitely come here again

The location is amazing and the rooms are modern and clean, but the best part was the freshly prepared breakfast every morning, with fresh fruits, scrambled egg and smoked salmon.

Me and my auntie have just enjoyed a wonderful two night stay here. The b&b has amazing views across Hayle beach, with very welcoming and attentive hosts. It was beautifully clean and felt like a home away from home, with lovely comfortable beds. We stayed in room 5 and fell asleep with our doors open, listening to the sounds of the ocean. We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast cooked by Barbara, with a great selection to choose from.

And we got to meet George the German Shepard and loved her! Barbara and Paul even went out of their way to bring George outside so that I could say goodbye to her before we left for home. Overall, not a single bad comment and can't wait to come back again next time

Just spent a couple of nights here and beat B&B have ever stayed in. Barbara is the most friendliest person and feel like have known her for years. Absolutely spotlessly clean, stunning views, fabulous breakfast and choices. Will definitely be back again very soon.

The host was professional and friendly, the facilities were 5 star all round. The views were stunning, even for November. The food and beverages were to a high standard. Nothing was to much trouble for Barbara. The B & B was hygienic, and complied with the covid 19 requirements leaving us feeling safe and comfortable.

Had a brilliant short Tuesday to Friday break. Can't fault the Penellen at all. You can see why it has won so many awards. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotless. Breakfast was amazing and set us up for our walks. Thanks to all involved.

We visit every year. What a fantastic find for walking with the dog and just enjoying the sea air. With views across the Hayle Estrey towards St Ives. Get the train from St Earth to St Ives. And enjoy a drink in the Bucket of Blood and the Cornish Arms.

I arrived travel worn and weary (and close to tears if I'm honest) because this was my first experience of travelling alone and after 30 plus years of marriage I was a fish out of water. Barbara was so kind and really went the extra mile to make me feel welcome and settled. From then on it was plain sailing and I had a fantastic time exploring Cornwall knowing that I had this beautiful haven to return to after each adventure.

My room was absolutely gorgeous as was the rest of the B&B. Thank you so much Barbara, you really made my time in Cornwall the best it could have been. Would love to come back one day (with husband in tow!).
