I made a reservation for Father's Day in the Beach Club Restaurant in March. Then re-confirmed my booking in May, only to find out a week before Father's Day that the reservation needed to be cancelled due to a private function now taking place. When I queried this with the manager Nicole I was told that their diaries change on a daily basis and that they simply manage this by re-routing customers to other restaurants.
I appreciate this is an option however some of the options aren't great with smaller children and not really in the spirit of why I choose to book the Beach Club restaurant over their other restaurants. If I wanted to eat in the Orangery. I would have booked the Orangery in the first place. This also happened with friends of our for the G7. I'm sure if my plans changed I would not be eligible to just cancel them with the hotel and get a refund on my deposit. The hotel needs to review the management of their diaries and customer relations.

We have just returned from our 2 night stay at Carbis Bay. It's taken us two years to get here and it was well worth the wait. We were there for the jubilee weekend. Ilma was on reception and greeted us with such a warm presence. All the staff were lovely. We are with our 9 month old baby and we were made to feel at home. We were given a bigger room and one with a bath for baby and the travel cot was already set up for us with bedding for it.
The rooms were luxurious and spacious. We had dinner and breakfast both days. We were shown around for our potential wedding too. We had treatments which were the best we have ever had! The spa is relaxing and beautiful and we had cocktails there. The views are something else. We had food at the beach hut and this is where we are looking for our wedding too.
The relaxed beach vibe is right up our street. They had fresh paella being made and it smelt divine. The next evening we ate at the Walters. Its the new beach front restaurant and wow! Was delicious. We had a cream tea on our last day and it just finished off our weekend amazingly. We will be coming back and hopefully booking our wedding. Thank you to all the staff. Helen, Steve and Sydney-Margot

We went for afternoon tea and whilst the environment is lovely, and the view spectacular, we were left a little frustrated by the fact that the hotel ignored our request for one vegetarian afternoon tea. When I pointed out this was on the booking, I was met by a blank look. The waitress then asked if we wanted more of the same of the sandwiches that were veggie friendly.
This was an egg sandwich. This cam across as a little lazy of the kitchen, or perhaps it just lacks creativity on the chef's part. The 'tea' part of the afternoon tea was also missing choice. We were offered 'tea or coffee'. When asked what kind of tea, there was only one choice. The coffee appeared to be filter coffee. Both served in a mug/cup rather than with your own pot or cafetiere which took away some of the flamboyance. It's a shame as we go to St Ives Bay a fair bit and it would have been nice to have done the afternoon tea again. These experiences will deter us from future visits.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for the weekend. From the very first minute at check-in, nothing was too much trouble. The room was immaculate and the shower was even better! We choose to eat at Walter on the beach, and just wow. Probably the best food we've had in ages. Breakfast on Sunday in the orangery was made perfect when the sun came out. Those views were amazing. Well done to you all. We can't wait to come back.

Amazingly beautiful hotel and area. Right on the cleanest and clearest beaches in the UK. Hotel staff are friendly and professional and very helpful. Rooms are spacious and well equipped with absolutely beautiful bathrooms. Shower has an overhead rainshower facility which is powerful. Nothing like waking up to lapping ocean waves and the most picturesque ocean views.
Food was beautiful, large portions. Was a bit surprised by the early closing times of the la carte restaurant, which we were told kitchen was closed at?7pm. Walked into St Ives, which was a beautiful harbour walk. Absolutely beautiful stay

This is our fourth year back in the apartments connected to the Carbis Bay hotel. The location is amazing right on the beach and the staff are always happy and helpful. An ideal spot for the children with St Ives just a 30 minutes walk or three minute train journey away. Food is always good quality although on a few occasions we've found the orders have been mixed up.
