Escape to our adults-only bed and breakfast guesthouse in Buxton. The Old Manse is the perfect accommodation for those who want to enjoy a home-from-home environment combined with good old-fashioned hospitality. We are situated in a peaceful neighbourhood, just a step away from Buxton's main attractions and vibrant Market Square with its pubs and restaurants.
Great location, easy walk into the town centre. Free parking on the street, very clean large room. Amazing eggs, sausage, and bacon at breakfast plus a good continental selection to choose from. Lovely helpful hosts, many thanks! We would highly recommend The Old Manse - nothing was too much trouble for Lis and Neale it was so relaxing, breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.
We are Neale ad Lis and we own The Old Manse Guesthouse in Buxton. We wanted to give you an introduction about ourselves. Nayvee isn't allowed in any of the public areas but many guests do ask to meet him, and he loves to come and say hello when he's allowed to. The gorgeous town of Buxton seemed the perfect place for our new life in hospitality as it is so close to the many attractions that the Peak District has to offer. Our aim has been to offer a bespoke, modern, and friendly service for our customers.
On a bright summer's day in July, on a rare morning with a few hours to spare we chose to visit Thornbridge Hall & gardens at Ashford in the Water (2 miles from Bakewell town centre), a place we drive past regularly on our way to collect some of our locally sourced breakfast produce. When you visit Crich Tramway Village you can be transported back in time on their wonderful vintage trams or soak up the atmosphere that harks back to a different era with a visit to the shops and enjoy the tea rooms and pub - all on site.

We stayed here for 3 nights but wish we had booked longer now. Buxton itself is really lovely, there's lots to do and we enjoyed exploring the town and local area, we are planning to come back again and have already booked our stay at the Old Manse before we checked out! Lis and Neale are really welcoming and friendly. They have excellent knowledge of the local area.

We stayed in one of the superior rooms and it was such a treat, really spacious and well furnished, they have clearly thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay. The bed was super comfortable and HUGE! Breakfast is honestly the best we have had in any B&B and it's so refreshing to have dietary requirements properly catered for too! We tried something new each day and everything was so yummy. Looking forward to our returning visit see you soon!

We stayed at The Old Manse from October 6-10, 2021. Set on a quiet street. We enjoyed every single day of our stay. Neale and Lis, were one of the most pleasant hosts we have met on out travels. They made the Old Manse feel like home. Our room was very clean and had all we needed. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was lavish and was set in a picturesque room. If we had been on the "Four In A Bed" TV programme, we would have paid the full rate and extra.

Great host and a warm welcome. Great room and amenities, nice touches in the room including iron and ironing board. Also nice touching on the landing of mint sweets which were very tasty. Awesome breakfast that set us up for the day with a great selection on cereals and fruits available. Parked on road opposite no problems although there was space on the front. Had no issues parking car there. Close to the town and country walks. Will be looking to stay again. A gem of the peak.

We stayed for 4 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. Agree with all the other 5 star reviews - the breakfast in particular was delicious and we tried a different dish every morning and another nice touch was offering fresh milk whenever we needed it. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit the Peak District.

I enjoyed 3 very comfortable nights. The room had everything I needed and the breakfast was fresh, hot and tasty. Having fresh milk available for the in-room tea and coffee facilities was great. Liz and Neale were very friendly and excellent hosts. They had also clearly considered how to ensure the safety and well-being of their guests as best as possible. Thank you for a great stay.

We booked this literally the night before and very happy they had 1 room left. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the hosts Lis and Neale. We felt very safe with first being told about covid guidelines, we were assigned our breakfast table and could pick one of the times available for our breakfast. We were then shown to our room, it was a lovely bright, very clean room, tastefully decorated with a very big bed.

It overlooked the garden which was lovely watching the birds and squirrels. It was lovely and peaceful and a short walk to the town. The breakfasts, were amazing, cooked to perfection, there was a real good selection of cooked food as well as cereal, dried fruit, fresh fruit, yoghurt and juices. Would highly recommend and would definitely return when visiting Buxton. Thanks again, Ian and Christine

Very well located (less than 10 mins walk into the heart of Buxton - and a few mins walk to pubs and restaurants) and comfortable guest house. We had a large and airy room, with huge comfy bed. Tea, coffee amd bottled water were provided in the room and could be topped up as needed. Excellent breakfasts with a wide range of cooked breakfasts (including vegan) (the scrambled egg with smoked salmon kept me going all day), cereals, granola, yoghurt and fruit. The road is quiet and parking isn't a problem. Definitely a great place to stay to explore the Peak District.

We really enjoyed our stay - Lis and Neale are lovely hosts and the breakfast was exceptional! There was so much choice on the menu and it was cooked perfectly. (My partner said it was the best eggs benedict he has ever had!) The location is perfect - on a quiet road only 5 minutes walk from the town centre, with lots of pubs and restaurants close by. Our room was clean and had everything we needed.
