Normanton Park Hotel is an 18th century courtyard hotel located on the shores of Rutland Water, it offers a beautiful backdrop for your wedding day. Situated as the closest hotel, just a stone's throw to the historic Normanton Church and set within five acres of lush gardens and ancient trees, the setting is absolutely perfect for those all important pictures.

There is plenty of choice: from cycling, fishing and windsurfing, to climbing and canoeing, or simply relaxing with a leisurely trip on the Rutland Belle. We saw this hotel earlier in the year whilst visiting Rutland water and thought what a lovely setting. So when we were looking for a place halfway between our homes to catch up with family it seemed perfect and I would just say it was exactly that.

Staff were preoccupied with attending to wedding guests and therefore attention & service for other guests dropped to the point where we were simply forgotten about whilst dining. The food is expensive, but was not bad. Room was dirty, the toilet didn't work properly, there were small flies, stained sheets and dirty cups. The only positive is the location relative to the lake. Loud noise from wedding parties is also a downside, but depends on what side of the hotel you stay in.

We provided the Sax & DJ package a wedding. This is an incredible venue that worked really well in accommodating for live music and an excellent party atmosphere! The staff were extremely professional and attentive, the food was fantastic and the venue was beautiful. If you're looking for a wedding venue for your big day, look no further.

Lovely location. Ans great room and lovely views. Would have gave it a 5 but the online menu that is on the website. They are not serving. Which we were not made aware of on arrival. So it was a very expensive Al-cart menu which wasn't really up to much. My wife left the fish as it was full of bones. They even had a missprint on the menu. With a order of onion rings they come With strawberry And cream. Something I picked up and staff didnt seem that bothered. So if you look at dining here they no longer serve the pizza And BBQ menu.

Avoid at all costs. The outdoor location with picnic tables overlooking Rutland Water seems idyllic but it is totally ruined by poor cooking, overpriced meals and shambolic service. Our party was two families, we both ordered at the same time. The service was poor and the other family received "the worst nachos we've ever eaten" which were cold, with cold cheese. Fiercely overpriced ribs which were unpleasant.

The only highlight was the sweet potato fries but at 4.50 for a side they were expensive. Everything came in cardboard takeaway style boxes like the first week of lockdown. This is no longer acceptable. Our order was lost. The waiter just expected us to reorder and wait another 45 minutes. I asked for a refund and they didn't even comp the drinks. Seeing as the pizza oven was now working, I asked how long it would take to get a pizza for my son as he was very hungry and was told "it won't be quick as I've got two orders ahead of you" this was the final straw.

I do not expect to be treated like the Queen wherever I go but this level of inconsiderate and high handed ignorance is not something I will tolerate. I would not recommend this Best Western to anyone. The cafes nearby are far better in every way.

It was convenient for our fishing trip and the staff were wonderful apart from the chef refusing to accommodate a simple cheese and pickle sandwich as the sandwich options finished at 5pm. I had a large lunch and arrived late and not hungry enough for starters or main meals. Not very many were eating but it was still too much trouble. My colleagues were ok with a starter. Went hungry in the end.

Really nice experience on Rutland Water. Our room was quite compact but still very good VFM, well equipped and a super view of the lake. Plenty of parking, v comfortable king-size bed and lots of nice bathroom bits, tea, biscuits etc. A few small issues very quickly resolved. Continental breakfast was very good but the cooked one seemed to have a few issues. Staff were very good. A few tweaks would make this excellent but we'd definitely come again. The location is perfect. View from the window :

We had a Lake view room in the main hotel, room was large but very dated furniture and smelt of old cigarette smoke when you first went in. The room and especially bar prices are rather high feel they are tacking advantage of the remote location. Apart from the above the staff are very friendly and we had a very nice stay.

Visited with my mum & family for an early mother's day treat. The afternoon tea outside on the edge of Rutland Water is beautiful. We asked for more of a vege selection of sandwiches, and my fault I should have been more specific and said no egg either, however when we asked for a different option, they were able to quickly arrange this with no hesitation or fuss. The service is absolutely fantastic, and I was impressed they were able to cater to our needs at the last minute.

Wow! We went here for afternoon tea, and it did not disappoint. We were in the conservatory, so had good views over the water. The food and service was outstanding. My husband loved the coffee, and asked what kind they used. A member of staff kindly got someone to discuss it with him, and he had a thoroughly enjoyable chat with him. So much so, we got home, and he went straight on the Internet to order some. The staff are friendly and professional, and the building is so beautiful, in stunning surroundings. Highly recommend

Arrived her Thursday 23rd December for 3 day stay. Slightly apprehensive as had read some not very good reviews. We were taking our two dogs so had one of the "doggy rooms" booked. Very pleasantly surprised. Room looked as if it had been freshly decorated, spacious, two lovely beds and an ensuite with a bath. First evening, Thursday, had just paid for room (not included in our Xmas package) but paid to eat in restaurant.

Excellent food with a scrumptious rump steak. Christmas Eve, huge breakfast and a great evening meal. At 4 pm, we were invited for mulled wine, sandwiches and mince pies. Christmas Day, buffet breakfast - best scrambled eggs ever, fantastic lunch in the conservatory with a visit from Father Christmas. The staff were all lovely, in particularly the waiters Carmelo and Margareta and the receptionists Lee Anne and Noelle.

The price of our stay was exceptional and, hopefully, we will be back next Christmas. One guest has been coming 10 years! Our dogs loved their walks by the Reservoir. 4 years ago, we spent Xmas as the George Stamford - twice as much money and we could not even sit down in lounge as full of people from the street!

Visited recently, food had improved a little, pasta dish had good flavour chef with a brain added celery gives a better taste. Reception man still looks like he is in a bad mood and does not want to help. He always seems to bully staff, who I feel sorry for Owners still in a time week, the money in that area and they cannot attract the high nets in to spend there cash. Joke of a management running the show.

Excellent. One problem: the dining room is large but there was a lack of ventilation (open windows allowing through flow of air) when the room was completely full. Vital in covid times. Otherwise, very good and friendly service - hot towel rails in the bathroom - good food and wonderful location.

Attended a meeting from work and we used their excellent conference room, beautifully maintained. Customer service was on point as I asked the member of staff at the bar to allow me a small discreet space so I could preform my prayers which he did and closed all the access doors so I would be left undisturbed, legend! Thank you good sir! Very beautiful scenic views of Rutland waters, a delight even on a drizzly day like today!

WE were very impressed with the service, facilities and staff helpfulness here. A respite for a delicious meal, drinks and a sit down under the trees with bikes strewn on the grass around. A well earned break from cycling. even though I was the tandem rider on an electric assisted bike!

Hotel decor a little tired, our courtyard view room wasn't but was clean, comfortable and appropriate. The staff were great including Antonio who looked after us at dinner. Food was marvellous and more than enough. Views across the lagoons were stunning. Bit underrated for a 3 star. Loved it here.
