The rooms are superb and modern with a lovely memory foam mattress and plenty of space. The bathrooms are great and the walk-in showers are a definite plus! Whilst we haven't eaten dinner at the hotel, we have had breakfast and can safely say it was delicious. The staff have been tremendous, helpful and friendly. The location is incredible, a short drive away from Central Lakes (less than an hour to Ambleside / Keswick) and a very short drive (15 mins) to Whitehaven on the coast.

This hotel is situated perfectly for every type of visitor. But with few public transport links - a car is needed. My only slight niggle is the WiFi. The smart TV in the room doesn't really work because the WiFi isn't strong enough but this is very very minor and did not negatively impact my stay at all. Would absolutely recommend this hotel again.

Surprisingly good! Had a voucher to use from Christmas and the recent refurbishment looks great, but the food was very good indeed and surpassed my expectations!

Staff absolutely excellent, went above and beyond i got a flat tyre and was 90 mins late for my Mums birthday lunch, they never made the guests feel they were in the way as they waited for me, as soon as i arrived they brought hot tea, my food and were just really lovely from the second i stepped through the door, Food excellent, Decor is beautiful also, i will 100% be back. Thankyou for your kindness it did not go unnoticed.

Seriously poor! I thought my main meal was a starter when it arrived - Monkfish. Thing is it wasn't very good either. Service was good, but the kitchen and management need to get themselves sorted. Just extremely disappointing. Needless to say that unfortunately I just couldn't recommend to friends and family.

Beautiful place, gorgeous decor. Sunday lunch was definitely worth pulling off the road for on a whim. The Roast pork dinner had lovely crackling and the biggest yorkies. Yum! Would definitely recommend.

Booked this hotel with about 2 wks to spare and it was such a good decision. We turned up and the receptionist was extremely friendly with a smile on her face. The room was better than we were expecting for short notice and we were super impressed with the shower and the super comfy bed has made us come home and buy a new mattress! Lovely evening meal in the Conservatory with great, friendly staff all round. Would definitely return and recommend.

Very impressed overall with the hotel. Let things are - room always cleaned to very high standard and new towels each day - service and staff very helpful whenever I needed anything - bar area and restaurant good. Restaurant food ok but we generally enjoyed the time we ate there. - lots of parking and used easily as a base for hiking in the Lake District

We were there for 5 nights and I would come again in a flash. The rooms are large, super clean, well decorated, comfy bed, nice bathroom. Netflix on the telly although, after the hiking, not really needed. Good breakfast, lots of choices, from small appetite to a big breakfast to hold on for the day. The coffee could be better though. The staff was super nice and friendly, really making you feel welcome.

As for the restaurant, it was amazing. Such great food, lots of options for my vegetarian partner, always very well presented, hot plates, great combination of tastes. Ate there 3 nights because there's not much in the area but it was with pleasure. Make sure to make a reservation. Very happy with our stay.

This place is my new place to stay when I'm in this area. I stayed for two nights with a colleague. The decor looks to have been recently renovated to a high and modern standard in the main hotel and bedroom annex. We ate both nights in the restaurant which again looks recently renovated. The food was delicious on both occasions. Compliments to the chief and owners of this fine establishment.

Welcoming and attentive staff. Great dinner and breakfast (had kippers) with quality choice fare. Only negative (will impact those who have mobility issues) is the lack of access. I followed disabled signage to the rear door but it was locked - no bell or handle! Bedrooms in annex have steep steps, no lifts. Only ramp was from car park. Hotel needs an access audit to advise changes.
