The Hotel Ceilidh-Donia

Okay, this place is amazing. The service, the food and the rooms are all top-notch. I can't think of a place that I would say is better in all of Edinburgh. They also do lunch here. It's a Bed and Breakfast that give you both Breakfast and Lunch and it is delicious and served with a smile. I'm not joking when I say it is Awesome.

Best Scottish breakfast in Edinburgh? Hotel Ceilidh-Donia serves an excellent Full Scottish breakfast, with possibly the best haggis I have ever had. The rooms are cosy, well maintained and equipped. And the staff were brilliant. We really enjoyed our stay!

We were attending a wedding nearby at Prestonfield House with our 9 month old. Lovely friendly accomodating staff who helped everything run smoothly for us. Fab and fresh breakfast with plenty of options for our little one as well. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

This hotel, is truly amazing - 5* is what the owner warrants - his attention to detail is phenomenal- in a way that no other could match - adapting the bedroom arrangements, suddenly an additional person joining the party and somehow they are found a bedroom and when the taxi doesn't arrive to take you to the station/airport Kevin manages to help - this place is Edinburgh's gem, a true hidden secret

I really couldn't recommend this place enough. Kevin is the most welcoming and accommodating host you'll ever stay with. There is nothing he wouldn't do for his guests. The place is wonderful, the breakfast is delicious and a lovely location with views of Arthurs Seat.

Hotel was beautifully clean and well kept. Breakfast the following morning was a lovely choice of continental and varied cooked breakfasts and gave me gluten free bread! Brownie points for that! Only a couple of downsides, the room we were in had quite a large gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, I appreciate its an old building with old floorboards but I felt like everyone would be able to hear our conversation. Also, I had booked a room with a large double bed and the bed we had felt incredibly small, I clung to the edge and slept like a log.

Just would have liked a bigger bed. All in all, incredible value for money. Owners were lovely people I really think you should rethink your prices, I'd have paid at least 85 for my nights stay. Thank you, and we will see you again! (Just maybe a twin room instead)

Just back from a lovely few days away in Edinburgh- the location is great with a short bus ride into the city for all the sights. The Hotel run by Kevin and Susan is very clean with very comfortable appointed rooms with lovely showers to start and end your day. The breakfast was lovely cooked by Susan and very efficient service from Kevin. Well worth a visit and would stay again when we re visit Edinburgh with friends. Thanks for looking after us so well.

Had a really lovely 3-night stay at Ceilidh-Donia between Christmas and New Year. Very accommodating, welcoming and friendly staff throughout our stay. Room was a good size, very clean and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious with vegetarian and vegan options. Location is very good, 30 minute walk into the city or regular buses just round the corner. The street is very quiet. Highly recommend staying here!

Great Hotel, the owners were amazing. Fantastic Scottish breakfast, free toiletries in room, biscuits and water also in room. Comfy bed. About 10 min taxi drive from city.

I stayed for one night while I attended a conference. The room was small, but entirely fit for purpose, clean and tastefully decorated. The hospitality was excellent. The owner made it very clear that nothing I might request would be too much trouble. I felt really welcome and looked after. Keep it up!
