Pleasant pub and hotel. Good beer and vegan options on the menu. Set in beautiful countryside and close to Goathland village centre ( but a bit away from all the Heartbeat throng)

An unexpected treat after a walk in the moors. Friendly staff, great beer, a really nice menu for reasonable prices and a stunning outdoor space with views across the valley. Will definitely return

Lovely location great staff. Breakfast was fab. We were in the old part of the house and couldn't open the windows for fresh air so it got a bit hot, but a fan was provided. We will certainly visit again.

Fabulous, friendly, attentive and efficient staff from our visit to the bar during the day and our evening meal in the lounge. Food was delicious. The star of the show was undoubtedly Troy. Inter-action from Troy throughout the evening was exceptional and an he is an absolute credit to the Mallyan Spout team.

Food ok. Went just before Xmas 2021. Service was ok, but nothing to shout about. It was the last nights service before shutting for Xmas, maybe the reason for lack of interest from staff?

Is this the world's most homely hotel? I think it might just be. Relaxing here is like slipping tired feet into your favourite pair of old slippers

Great food! Seriously, it was great! Lovely environment, nice and clean with friendly staff. Clean rooms, however a little towards the pricey end for what is provided.

Beautiful hotel, friendly & happy staff. The attached pub was cosy & full of character. The hotel is on the path to the Mallyan spout which is a lovely walk, but a walking stick is advisable as the rocks can be slippy.

We got caught in the rain and needed help with booking a cab. The staff were really helpful with that. The place has great ambience and the lemonade was awesome!

Lovely country hotel. We called in for a drink on the way home so cannot comment on the food but a lovely cosy venue, friendly helpful staff and we saw the igloos all lit up which looked super cute. I would like to try the food next time we are in the area

One of the best experiences I've had. My mother-in-law took my husband and I here as a Christmas present. She and her husband have been here before and wanted us to experience it as well. The hotel is literally something out of a Jane Austen novel. Everyone was so pleasant and accommodating. Unlike American hotels, people actually use the lobbies/lounge areas to relax and spend time.

When we arrived we were shown to our rooms. We had a great view of the dales. The room was warm, bathroom heated. As soon as we finished refreshing ourselves, my husband and I went down to explore. My in-laws followed about a half hour later and we sat in one of the parlours. They brought us champagne and appetizers while we looked through the menu.

And when we were ready we were ushered into the dining room which was absolutely beautiful. We had a 3 course meal. We did the exact same thing the next evening, but different food. The food was amazing. Every dish was so delicious! We had breakfast every morning too and it was simple. Good and simple. After a 3 course meal, you really don't want to go all out the next day. Our weekend stay was worth the drive.
