Dunsley Hall

We stayed at Dunsley over the Jubilee Holiday. I booked the stay for my partner's 60th birthday. When I made the initial telephone call and spoke to Victoria, I was advised that as we were bringing our dogs, 'The 'Den' might be a better choice for us, rather than a room in the house. I'm so pleased that I went with that advice, as the Den was indeed perfect for us and with two dogs, gave us the space to relax properly.

It was warm, cozy and quiet and the quick access to the garden was great for our dogs and very much appreciated. The ease of eating in the restaurant, took all of the stress out of finding a 'dog friendly' eatery elsewhere and ensured we could concentrate on the delicious food that was on offer. It makes such a pleasant change to find good quality linen and napkins on the tables and efficient and friendly staff to serve the great choice of food.

The attention to detail was again, noticed and appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, the coffee divine. Our food was always served at a perfect temperature, by pleasant, friendly staff and the wait was minimal. The location of Dunsley is just perfect, within walking distance to beautiful Sands End and at night the only thing you can hear is birdsong. Idyllic!

We were in the area looking for somewhere to stay for a couple of nights. We saw a sign for the hotel from the main road and decided to have a look. I'm glad we did. Our room was spacious and clean. A good firm bed and a great en suite bathroom with separate shower and bath. We stayed on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Great value, unbelievable value at 99/night.

We enjoyed our stay so much we stayed for an extra night. Should we be in that part of the country again we would wish to stay here again. Makes a great base for visiting Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and the general North Yorkshire coast.

One of the rooms we got was 99 a night. But I would recommend it to anyone what a fabulous place very friendly staff very clean just awesome location will be going back time and time again. The breakfast was just fabulous. If you don't go there, you have to be nuts. Just 5 minutes drive from the city centre of Whitby. Just a phenomenal place

Wonderful stay in a stunning, quiet location. Can't fault the room, food or staff. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were wonderful, the food was tasty and plenty of choices were available. Fabulous value for money and plenty to see and do in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our short break. Will be returning without a doubt.

Booked this hotel as we did not want to be in the centre of Whitby. Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Room large clean, bathroom spotless. We will definitely stop here again when in the area. The restaurant staff were very attentive. Food exceptional, overall excellent stay would highly recommend Dunsley Hall

Fantastic hotel, we loved everything about it, a real gem hidden away just outside of Whitby. We were given a room upgrade as it was my birthday treat which was much appreciated. The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast plenty of choice on both menus and very nice table service. Hotel is nicely secluded well off main roads in beautiful grounds overlooking the North Coast

Great value, a lovely setting, an old beautiful Manor House with lovely staff (Molly especially) and always ready to help. A great choice at breakfast and the evening meals were fab, and again a good choice. There's a quaint bar with leather chairs and a large relaxing lounge. We had a double aspect room with a fourposter bed and seating area. The only downside, was the shower! This was our 4th stay, and YES, we will be back.

Great place to stay. Not to far in the whitby. The hotel is a beautiful building, the young lady on reception is a pleasure and goes out her way to help. The food is good quality and well presented. I think some back ground music is needed, they do play music at one side of the dining room. So you tend to find yourself whispering, as other tables where sat in silence for some reason.

The only three downsides are the bed are uncomfortable and the pillows are very thin. We were unable to use the hot water, due to a new boiler being fitted and the water was brown. I understand this is out of the staff hands.

A beautiful building in a beautiful setting. Had a large room that was very clean and well presented. Had excellent service from every member of staff who were all very friendly. The meal we had at night was one of the best and my compliments to the chef it was delicious from start to finish. The service in the restaurant was very good. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Fab place to stay. Lovely location. Real character. Food was good. Pleasant stay.

What a hidden gem of a place. Tucked away down a narrow country lane about 1 mile outside Whitby. Look out for their regular 99 special deal which is Dinner, Bed n Breakfast for 2 people. The food, staff and ambience is superb and the building steeped in history. Highly recommend

Beautiful hotel tucked away in a quiet corner of Yorkshire. We were upgraded on arrival which was a lovely surprise. V comfortable bed and room with a view. Great breakfast too.

This was our second visit and we enjoyed our break the hotel and room were very nice clean and warm food very good. Staff pleasant but overworked because of staff shortages. I am now going to put a point of view to be mulled over, why do employers, owners expect existing staff to do extra without paying extra this is exploitation after all they are saving on the staff unavailable to hire, service and happy ship and crew make for better service to us the customer. End of rant

Spent a single night here and we really enjoyed it. Fantastic surroundings and the lounge and bar were very relaxing and a chilled atmosphere. The Barman Riley was fantastic and really looked after everyone. Met some great people and we are seriously considering this as a wedding reception venue. 3 course meal was excellent.

This was the third time of staying there. Such a lovely place, the staff can't do enough for you, such a friendly environment. Very clean, food is excellent. We give this hotel 5 stars always

A brilliant hotel! We have stayed here before, but we had a super room this time! It's a little pricey in the summer months, but the staff are wonderful. Food is excellent too! A fabulous experience.

The food is shocking as is the service Beautiful building let down by the food and table service I wouldn't go again.

Nice location near to the seaside town of Whitby but a lso just far enough out to get piece and quiet. Very nice garden room with patio to sit out. Good food and service.

Just had a 2 night stay. The room was beautiful and very spacious and clean. Staff very helpful, only criticism is waiting quite a while for your food in the restaurant but once it arrived it was lovely. Would definitely go again. Nice relaxing couple of days.
