Lindeth Fell was built in 1909 as a private residence. It was converted into a hotel in the late 1970s and subsequently bought by the current owners, the Kennedy Family, in the mid 1980s. Of course, the business has changed radically over the years to meet the needs of customers with high expectations, and the family and their dedicated team aim to achieve this every day.
Pat and Diana created Lindeth Fell Country House. Over the years, the next generation of Kennedys has been involved in maintaining the high culinary and service standards.

I have been visiting Lindeth Fell for about 20 years and it is always an absolute pleasure. This visit was planned as a friend was treating me to a afternoon tea. We arrived slightly early but were immediately welcomed and shown to a table in the lounge. We were fortunate that the sun and cloud free day meant that we were treated to the most beautiful views.
I am coeliac and therefore require food which is free of certain allergens including wheat and gluten. The afternoon tea which the staff prepared and served to me was delicious and was of the same content and quality as my friends. I have visited so many other places where this has not been the case. After we had eaten as much of the afternoon teas as we each could (the remaining food was carefully packed up for us to take home), we sat outside in the sun and spent another hour enjoying the sun, a drink and more of the view.
Two fighter planes and a chinook passed over at low level and we were excited to see this fly past on such a clear day. We reluctantly left taking the remainder of our afternoon teas with us, and made our way home looking forward to revisiting again soon. The Lindeth Fell is wonderful, the staff are wonderful and the food is wonderful. I certainly look forward to more visits over the next 20 years!

Tucked away in magnificent grounds with stunning views. A real gem worth every one of its 5 stars and more! Lovely welcome and great service. The little extras such as a decanter of sherry and fresh baked cookies in the room were such a lovely thought. It has such character inside with the old wood finish, the quaint mismatch furniture with throws and cushions, and a very cosy bar area. It made us feel like we were special guests the way we were looked after, highly recommended.

What a beautiful location and luxurious house. I would highly recommend a visit having just enjoyed a two night stay. The rooms are extremely comfortable with tea and coffee and fresh drinking water. We had a spacious bathroom with a deep bath and separate shower. Breakfast was delicious and even though there is a menu there was no trouble in meeting a slightly different combination not on the list.
One thing I particularly liked was the fact that the lounge and bar area didn't have a huge television on the wall! There are plenty of pictures on the walls giving information on the history of the house and its owners. The book shelves just on the first floor had a considerable selection covering many tastes if you leave your book at home. There are plenty of gardens to walk around including a tarn and a croquet lawn. I'll be back.

We stayed at the hotel Saturday 12th June until Monday 14th June. We had a room with a fantastic view of the lake. Breakfast was superb as were the facilities generally The hotel itself was first class and we would like to express our thanks to everyone for the way we were made so welcome throughout our stay. Cannot wait to visit this hotel again. (ROOM 12)
