Kings Manor Hotel The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel is Edinburgh at its most relaxed. The vibrant city centre is less than five miles away, the sea is a few minutes stroll, and the glorious North Berwick coast stretches as far as the eye can see to the east. If that's not enough, the wild moors of the Pentland and Lammermuir Hills beckon from the south. Yet here in the leafy seaside suburb of Portobello, you have time and space for yourself - for a long, leisurely weekend, for clear-headed business, or for a once-in- a-lifetime special occasion.

The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel was a founder member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and recently was awarded the Gold Star Award for its consistent performance as a Gold member over that period. Time away from home should be special. So that's how we've decorated our 95 guest bedrooms. The look here is simple and elegant. There's space to spread out and be yourself, and everything you need to wind down, stay in touch with loved ones, or deal with pressing business affairs. If you're celebrating a special occasion or just fancy something a little grander, you can upgrade to a Club Room. The fabrics are finer, the furnishings more sumptuous, and the details more stylish. And there's so much more space.
All single rooms have at least a standard single bed (2 metres by 1 metre) most have a 'small double' bed (1.25 meters wide). Most of our singles are in the main part of the hotel in the 1840's 'country house' and although they are of a decent size for single rooms they tend to be a quirky shape. It is not possible to fit a baby cot or an extra bed in any single room.

As 3 couples we've stayed here a few times now over the years to attend Musselburgh Races in the first week in June. We've never had a bad stay with the staff always being helpful and friendly, this time was no different. The hotel has also been renovated too. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, only minor complaint was that the room was quite warm. We've always enjoyed the breakfasts too.

The hotel is very clean and have a nice spa center. The rooms are big and have all the facilities needed. The staff is friendly and very helpful. What we liked the most is that this hotel is very family friendly. It is around 25 min away from the city centre but just outside the hotel it is a bus station with busses coming every 10 - 15 min.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay May 2022. Bedroom huge and very comfortable bed. Nicely decorated. Bistro menu limited could be better. Breakfast a varied choice and cooked very nicely, special mention to Jonathan very friendly and engaging. Reception staff also friendly. Great location for bus into Edinburgh and a stroll to the beach promenade at night. Would recommend

2nd visit to Kings Manor in last 6 months. Lovely friendly staff. Family and dog friendly hotel. Short walk from the beach. Outstanding breakfast buffet selection. Additional show stopper breakfast special each day was a work of art. Reasonably priced. Would recommend a visit, lovely area and everyone we met was so welcoming.

We booked in for a quick break, mainly to use the spa. The hotel really tries hard but such a let down where it counts most. The hotel staff are lovely, so helpful and eager to please, such a credit but the hotel looks sad, it's in desperate need of a face-lift. The rooms are clean but again they desperately need redecorating. The restaurant (bistro) food isn't great, and the breakfast is abysmal, totally offputting, incredibly dry/overcooked and cold.

I think a few of the restaurant staff are new because they kept forgetting us, either didn't deliver what we ordered or didn't deliver what we needed, i kept having to get up to ask for either the order or the condiments etc. There is however a woman helping in the breakfast room and she's so engaging, singing and chatting, greeting guests, its just such a shame the breakfast is of such poor quaility.

The main part of our trip was the spa, the experience was a let down too, again the staff are lovely but the quality just isn't there. For example, i had my nails done yesterday, most nails are chipped and the finish isn't great. All i did was eat, sleep and drive so no reason for the chipping other than it wasn't well done to start with. One party of our group had a massage and she's genuinely in pain 24 hours later. Not a great experience. The stars is only for the staff, i wouldn't want to stay in this hotel again, not for a break away.

Old and tired. The staff were lovely and friendly but the Best Western brand/owners are letting the hotel down. It is in need of a huge renovation and a good clean. There were lots of work men staying (which I don't mind, but it gives you an idea that it's a work hotel and not for leisure or a holiday) The carpet in our room was filthy and behind the bathroom door was dusty and full of other peoples body hair.

Very clean and well organised hotel, quiet comfy bedrooms. Great staff who responded well to our questions. Great breakfasts and fantastic service by the breakfast crew. Well situated for our needs, we drove into the centre of Edinburgh within a few minutes and the zoo within half hour. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Yet again another fabulous stay. My partner and I stayed 4 nights this December and we had a great time. Everything from the room to the pool and spa to the glorious breakfast in the morning. The hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean and staff are cleaning all the time. Special thanks to Dawn and James on reception/admin etc you are both 'stars' can't wait to return. All the best

This was our second visit to the Best Western Kings Manor Hotel. Lovely clean & comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. Kings manor is a very dog friendly hotel. Our border terrier Bolt was made very welcome & had access to the the bar & breakfast room. He even got his own complimentary doggy gift bag which included treats, poop bags a door hanger to let staff know if your dog was alone in your room. Also included a detailed booklet on the local area & best places to go walkies. The food in the bar was very good as was the breakfast too. Definitely recommend this Hotel.

We stayed for a night at this hotel while visiting our son in Edinburgh. The entire experience was outstanding, and to date this Best Western Hotel is the best we have stayed in. Our evening meal was very good, and the staff who served us worked superbly as a team and were very customer focussed. The included breakfast was also very good with a wide choice of breakfast items.

The room we had was a Premier room, spacious and clean. Overall this was an exceptional hotel, from the perspective of value, quality and the standard of service. Highly recommended.
