Have been coming here from home in Canterbury by bicycle for tea as an afternoon out but never stayed here 'till now. Two very pleasant nights in a lovely room, surrounded with lovely staff. Even pretty average weather didn't spoil it. Highly recommended. (Room was unusually warm, though, given that we turned off both radiators & it was only 10°C outside.
No idea how or why that should be but opening the window an inch solved it so not a problem, puzzling though. My guess is that it's the in-room fridge (much appreciated & too rare in hotels these days) which is in a cupboard so is probably working hard in it's own heat all the time?)

The restaurant is very clean and spacious with an amazing view of the sea. The food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Menu is limited (which isn't always bad thing) and the meals are a little pricy for my liking but I guess it's a seafood restaurant in whitstable so you kinda expect it.

Rooms are really modern very clean and tidy. The staff go over and above to make your stay a pleasant one. Restaurant excellent and good value for money Location probably the best in Whitstable on the seafront near to Whitstable Harbour. Have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Hotel Continental

We stayed 2 nights. Loved the room, with a gorgeous sea view, great shower and well-stocked tea and biscuits. The only issue was that our TV didn't work (the picture and sound stopped working after 15 min) and this couldn't be resolved while we were there. I just feel that if you're paying 170 a night, the TV should work. We had breakfast at nearby cafes so can't comment on that, but did have a huge slice of Victoria sponge in the bar area, very relaxed vibe.

A decent hotel, right on the sea front with welcoming staff to ease the stay. A few points to note: 1. There are lots of stairs to reach the upper floors (typical of this type and age of property) 2. There is a system for booking breakfast. We were lucky but I can imagine some might miss out. The information can be missed when checking in. 3. Parking although free for guests is limited. Generally we would recommend but you need to check all the info before booking as we weren't able to find all this information.

Terrible service. I stayed here while working on a shoot. I arrived in my room to find what looked like pet hairs all over the bed linen. I could just about stomach that. I then checked on my way to set in the morning that they were aware that my booking was for two nights and that my belongings were still in the bedroom. The woman at reception said she was aware.
I got back after an extremely long day of filming to get my things from yo bedroom only to find that my key card no longer worked. I went downstairs to find out what had happened. The woman at reception was incredibly unhelpful. She answered my query in such an accusatory manner. I had to get someone from production to clarify the booking details with her only to find that my bag had been cleared out of the bedroom and someone else was now staying the in the room?!
The most upsetting part for me was that this woman then remembered that my things had been left under a table in the foyer and gestured to them from behind the desk?! I was in utter disbelief. Could my things not have been kept behind the reception desk? Honestly terrible hotel and should I be hired to film in the area again, I won't be staying at this hotel, I would rather sleep on the pebbles outside.

Small compact clean and fresh room, ok if you just want to put your head down for the night. Bed not the most comfortable but adequate. Priced at 132 for a room with no sea view and no breakfast this place is pricey. An extra 16.95 for breakfast with only fried eggs as an option suggests we either have a lazy chef or the kitchen can't cope with complicated orders.

Tiny room and very expensive for what it is! Parking is difficult. Being on the second floor with no lift has meant a tiring climb twice a day! Having paid 172 per night room only and breakfast at 17.00 per person, I begin to feel that I am paying for their pandemic closure! Poor value for money indeed even though the sea view was wonderful.

A bed and breakfast stopover on the way home to London having watched the last day of The Open @ Royal St George's. Our room was spotlessly clean; all of the staff were really friendly and accommodating and the 'full English' breakfast in the spacious dining room really hit the spot! Suspect we'll be back at some point to take advantage of the seafront location and to see more of what Whitstable has to offer. Highly recommended (a bit of air conditioning in the room would have made it a 5 star review).
