About Us Report

Yorke Lodge, a Victorian Villa, was built in 1887 by its first occupier, a Pharmacist and his wife. His 3 daughters lived in the 3 neighbouring houses built at the same time. All 4 houses were 'experimental builds' and are all ever so slightly different. Yorke Lodge was established as a Guest House in the mid 1970's, when I was living just across the road in another B&B (now sadly turned into flats). As a family we moved here in 2002 and have constantly undertaken a schedule of renovations and refurbishment.

It is our policy is to refuse certain bookings for the purpose of group events or parties, including pre-wedding stag/bachelor and hen/bachelorette parties. We do not charge for cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance of your arrival. We will charge the price of the first night's stay if you cancel within 48 hours of your arrival or in the event of a 'no-show'.

Has a nice trip planned but they cancelled my booking on the day! Disgraceful. Not worth the stress, avoid this place and stay in a nicer hotel. ABode was perfectly located in the city centre and a phenomenal hotel! I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Decent stay at a very clean well looked after B&B, the only let down is that the owner Vicky doesn't like a quiet solo guest returning to their accommodation late at night and I was very quiet aswell (no curfew stated in the booking).

Absolutely delighted with our stay. The b&b is spotless and the service has been impeccable with all the staff giving that extra attention to the small details that make you really feel cared for. Full score on the breakfast, rich and tasty. Would definitely book again and recommend.

Wonderful stay, excellent hospitality, superb location, exceptionally clean and with parking! Vicky made a special effort for my wife's birthday including restaurant recommendations and a cracking freshly made breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the gardens.

I found Yorke Lodge to be spotlessly clean. The room was lovely and equipped with everything needed, including tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was great and served by friendly staff. The whole place has a nice feel. I would definitely recommend.
