Somerston Hotels owns and operates 33 hotels across 3 international brands totalling in excess of 3900 rooms throughout the UK. 2005 proved to be a milestone in the company's development with two major acquisitions taking the company from 15 hotels to 31. The first was the purchase of 3 Express by Holiday Inn hotels from the Saltire Leisure Hotel Group and the second was the purchase of 13 from the BDL Hotel Group; these acquisitions provide excellent additional geographic coverage to our existing portfolio.

The location It Is clean, holiday inn Express standard. My concerne Is about my Edward point. Despite i used the IHG app and i show at the receptionist my membership status She did nothing and show me her pack of interest for my issue. I suugest her to find another job May be She doesn't have the right attitude to work as receptionist and deal with customer. I won't go to that hotel anymore.

Absolutely perfect hotel. Staff were exceptional and very helpful. Especially when I asked about where I could safely store my motorbike. Lampposts are close to the curb in the parking lot, so excellent for security. Room was amazing, spacious, even with a gigantic bed, plenty of power outlets, and lights. Shower/bathroom was very well thought out in terms of layout and practicality.
Lots of wardrobe space to hang motorbike helmet, clothing, boots etc. Nicely situated next to a pub/grille steakhouse which serves excellent meals and beverages. Perfect for solo travellers or large families with sprogs.

What I liked. This hotel is in a great location to use as a base, for having a look around Stirling. The staff were all very nice and helpful, the room had everything we needed, two comfortable beds, a TV, Air-conditioning, a hairdryer, an ironing board and an iron and a kettle with tea & coffee etc. The en suite, has the same very clever design that I've seen before in another HIE, where the main door acts as a separate toilet door as well, The towels were nice and fluffy, the shower was nice and there's a general body and hair soap dispenser on the wall in the shower and one by the sink.
The breakfast that's included is also very nice, you can have a choice from, Bacon, Sausage, Scrambled-egg, Beans, Fruit, Yoghurt, Cereals, Buns, Bread, Toast, Croissants, Mini-Muffins, Orange juice Apple juice, Milk, Tea and Coffee. What I didn't like, were mainly out of the staff's control, but there could be a few things that might help. Firstly, the noise made by some of the guest's, in the hallway at night was ridiculous, one guest even allowed his dog to bark a lot more than was necessary, I do think there needs to be some sort of enforced culture of being as quiet as possible in the hallways, maybe with different lighting and some signs warning that people may be fined for making too much noise, with fines going to compensate people woken up by unnecessary noise. Also, I don't know if it's intentional, but the lighting outside, shone directly into the window, instead of on to the building, which was a bit annoying, but rectified by the blackout curtain. but Like I said I'm fully aware that what I'm saying here, is mainly out of the control of the staff, who were all very nice.
All in all I think the staff coped very well with the busier period over Easter. It's a great hotel, with a nice view of a local mountain, and the reason I always look for a Holiday Inn Express, first.

Clean hotel, basic holiday Inn breakfast however on out 1st morning at hotel after working night shift despite being 0830am only breakfast available was beans or cereal no other hot food as their supply delivery hadn't arrived, had go to local Morrisons to get breakfast which was disappointing. Although apology given by reception no discounts or refunds offered. Reception staff friendly, catering staff rude unhelpful. Very busy hotel.

We had a stay over whilst getting the van fixed in Stirling before heading home. Great little hotel, good location. Plenty of parking. Pet friendly family room on ground floor was very clean. Breakfast was very good for the inclusive price. Drove out to the Kelpies in the evening, well worth a visit!

Stood here for our wedding anniversary. Everything was cool enough, minus blood left on the light switch from who I assume was the last guest. My husband and I assumed it was paint until it wiped off like blood after using it. To be fair, we didn't report it at the time so can't blame them for not fixing it. We also were told check in was 2 when we booked but came to find it was 4 which was annoying, but was fine enough with that. until someone else was able to get in at 11am when we were checking out. However, the ladies at the reception were super sweet and even told us about the local places to catch a bite.
I believe one was named Chloe. Breakfast was lovely and the staff working were upbeat and hard-working. Lots of sanitiser around which made us feel safer. While there were some setbacks with the location, the staff there were golden and we'd probably be back
