Highland Cottage To the beautiful Isle of Mull and to Highland Cottage, David and Jo Currie's award-winning small hotel and fine-dining restaurant sitting above the island "capital" of Tobermory. Set amidst the quiet elegance of the town's conservation area, and yet only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of Main Street and the Fisherman's Pier, Highland Cottage is a haven of genuine hospitality, well-appointed comfortable bedrooms and exceptional cuisine - every bit a genuine home-from-home as much as a small upmarket hotel.
Services
Given that we have chosen to call ourselves a "Cottage", none of our rooms are huge but all are, we believe, well-appointed and equipped with everything that makes for a comfortable stay and, of course, a good night's sleep. Our only dedicated Twin-bedded room and situated on the Ground floor with level access through to the Breakfast room/Dining-room and downstairs Sun-lounge/Sitting Room.
We have, of course, our on-line booking partner but please feel free to telephone and talk to us - or e-mail - if you prefer as we can sometimes be more informative and flexible than the electronic gizmos allow us to be. Whilst we have no dedicated Single rooms we are always happy to quote for single person use upon request.
PLEASE NOTE: the Dining Room at Highland Cottage will not be open for evening meals for the 2022 season. Whilst we are conscious that breakfast is often the most important meal of the day, we are also aware that "Breakfast is Breakfast" and that there is only so much that can be done to make it "different".
It is no co-incidence that the local Gaelic anthem - The Isle of Mull - contains the words ".of isles the fairest." Mull, the second largest of Scotland's Inner Hebrides is a large, beautiful and scenically diverse island within a relatively easy reach of Scotland's principal cities and airports.
Located in Tobermory, capital of the beautiful Island of Mull, Highland Cottage is ideally situated just a short walk or drive from Tobermory Main Street and easy to find when entering the town or in town. On approaching Tobermory, at the mini-roundabout, go straight ahead across the narrow stone bridge and immediately turn right.

Spent here 4 nights during our ventures on the Isle of Mull. The house has a beautiful style, lovely furniture, spacious room, really good atmosphere, and great location in Tobermory. Dave and Jo are excellent hosts, whom I can only admire for their hard work and non-negotiable approach towards quality. The food is superb, massive portions though.

The best stake and cheese omelette I've ever had in my life. The hors d'oeuvres before dinner and the roast pepper soup appetizer are both heavenly. It felt like home, just better.

Had a wonderful stay here. The hosts are fantastic, welcoming and friendly and you have got to dine in at least once - it may be a little pricey but my god the food is incredible.

We stayed for two nights, I wish it could have been four! We went on staffa tours and visited Tobermory distillery. Both were wonderful. But the best part of our visit was Highland Cottage and our wonderful hosts. Rooms were well appointed and very clean, although mattresses were a bit old. Still we rested very comfortably. The honor bar and living rooms were a great way to relax in a beautiful setting.

However the highlight was our food. Dinner was incredible. The best food we've had in Scotland, and well worth the hefty price tag of 42 pounds each for a multi course meal. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return one day. Highly recommended!
