Baslow Hall is a beautiful, 100 year old Grade II listed manor house set within the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. In 1988, when Max and Susan Fischer first saw this Derbyshire gem, the house and grounds had fallen into a state of neglect. It was love at first sight. Moving their young family and country restaurant into the house, they set about transforming this sleeping beauty into the delight we now know.
These are just the most recent ones. I can say without hesitation we will be visiting again very soon. Thank you all for making our celebrations more phenomenal than I could have ever envisaged. Fantastic service alongside amazing food. Staff went above and beyond for us and the little touches made it a very special experience. Will definitely be returning for another visit and will bring friends and family along too.
Fischer's Baslow Hall stands in stunning countryside, in the heart of the Peak District National Park on the outskirts of picturesque Baslow, a pretty, bustling little village. Here the brooding moors and uplands of the Dark Peak make way for the softer rolling hills of the White Peak, embodied perfectly at Fischer's itself, nestling below the dark gritstone of iconic Baslow Edge, and looking out across the green fields and dry stone walls of Derbyshire.
In 1988, when Max and Susan Fischer, first set eyes on Baslow Hall, they set about creating something very special. Not only did they restore and develop the hall itself, create an award-winning restaurant and hotel, but they also began creating the gardens you see today. Apart from the largest of the mature trees, the gardens were largely empty when they arrived.

The 4 star rating belies the true status of this hotel and restaurant which clearly deserves a much higher accolade. Stylishly appointed spacious rooms that generally look over beautifully maintained soul restoring gardens. Faultless food and service. Fischers is an oasis within an oasis: surrounded by the awe inspiring rugged beauty of the Peak District. Many thanks Fischers team. See you again soon!

My daughter and son-in-law paid for us to spend one night in this hotel for joint 70th birthdays and our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We found the staff very friendly and professional from both in house and ground staff. The food was amazing and the gardens have got to be the best we have seen in any hotel we have stayed in. The room was spacious and we had a view over the garden. Well worth a visit.

Four of us dined in the wine room which is a beautiful setting. We had the tasting menu and wine pairing. The whole experience was fantastic. The food was great, the service was impeccable. The French gentleman who was standing in for the Sommelier was so friendly and knowledgeable and we were surprised to find out he wasn't the Sommelier as he was so good. We will certainly return.

We visited for my dad's birthday and had a wonderful time. We aren't particularly familiar with fine dining, but the staff here were incredibly friendly and attentive with great senses of humour - we didn't feel out of our depth at all. The food was gorgeous, the portions appear small on the plate but they're perfectly balanced and crafted and by the end of the meal we felt very pleasantly satisfied!
My only drawback would be that I don't know if the extra 30 for the 5 course compared to the 3 course was particularly worth the steep price difference as the extras you get are not especially substantial, however all the courses were lovely. I'd also definitely recommend coffee and petit fours following the meal! What a great treat, and we will definitely be back.
It's expensive, sure, but not any more so than similar establishments and you absolutely get what you pay for in terms of service, venue, atmosphere, and quality of locally sourced ingredients.

What an amazing, special place Fischers Hall is. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff at Fischers, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and the service was exceptional. Every member of staff we met from the house keepers to the sommelier went that extra mile. Our upgraded room was beautiful, it made my husbands 40th birthday extra special.
We felt very lucky. The food and wine pairings were incredible. Thank you to the front of house staff and of course to the kitchen. Thank you for an unforgettable evening and stay.

Beautiful, comfortable accommodation, gorgeous gardens and terrifically good food. We had the tasting menu with matched wines and it was superb - inventive and clever without being fussy or pretentious. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The whole experience was a delight. Highly recommended.

From start to finish, the experience was divine. The service was excellent, the waitress (who should have been climbing Mount Vesuvius, but covid meant she met us instead) was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was out of this world. I would recommend the rabbit ravioli (which is not ravioli). It blew my taste buds away. The wine menu was extensive, and they made a special day even more special. We will be back again.
