Our aim is to combine the best traditions of hospitality, gained from our long and varied background travelling around the world, with something we believe to be a unique setting, making your stay an experience not just a visit.
Callow a Kingsize double room with views of the Derwent river and of Matlock Bath's South Parade. The bed and the room are larger than our classic doubles. Bretby a classic double room with views of the Derwent river and Matlock Bath's South Parade. Secondary glazing makes all of our river view rooms quiet enough for even the lightest of sleepers to get a good nights rest. From the initial phone call the response was positive and friendly others have posted about the almost step back in time it is, but brilliant. Breakfast was superb served with a smile and you just can not fault the whole experience, long may it last thankyou so much great 3 nights. I think we will be back

Fantastic New Years Eve night and the 1st Jan 2022! Chris and Zoe are wonderful hosts - nothing is too much trouble for them - including a vegan five course meal for me! The hotel (and cave) are amazing. This is the best hotel I've stayed in in the U.K. Rooms are fabulous, food is first class and the company is great. Will be back soon.

Stayed here for three nights with my hubby last week. It is an amazing hotel. The rooms are fabulous with so much attention to detail. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. A fantastic choice is available on the breakfast menu. The evening meals were fantastic too. Would definitely reccomend and will be returning.

From the minute my sister and I entered this amazing hotel, we felt at home. Nothing is too much trouble for Chris, Zoe and Lindsay. The decor of the hotel is absolutely amazing and takes you back in time, something to wonder at every time you went to your room. Stayed in the Riber suite and it was totally amazing, 4 poster bed was so comfortable and the bath was so welcoming.
The room and whole hotel were spotless, hand sanitizer readily available. Staff fully masked and gloved. The food is just spectacular freshly cooked and flavoursome. Such generous portions. Drinks served to you in a very welcoming lounge, which I felt was excellant especially when you are getting on in years. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants home comforts, excellent Customer services and above all the chance of relax in wonderful surroundings. Thank you.

This hotel is amazing, so full of history and the cave is amazing! We stopped in the Riber Room and my mouth dropped open when we walked in it is such a beautiful, elegant room and so clean too. The freestanding bath was amazing and I felt so relaxed after having a nice soak in it. The four poster bed was so comfy and the view from the room was amazing.
The owners Chris and Zoe were so friendly and made our stay so wonderful and we can't thank them enough. The breakfast was just perfection and I can't wait to go back for another stay. Alison and Elwood Blues
