Very friendly, helpful bar staff. Small, but nice selection of hot lunches which, the leg of lamb and haggis chicken were of a very good standard (sandwiches also served). Lovely large outdoor seating area opposite (where dogs are allowed). Good parking at the front and in Embleton village. Prices, about average. Would recommend

Warm welcome, great stay. From the friendly greeting at Reception, to the well-stocked bar, to the high quality cuisine, we were delighted with our stay. Christine in particular was so pleasant and attentive in the bar and restaurant. Rooms are great too, as are the comfortable and well decorated lounges. The beach and spectacular views of the castle ruins are only a short stroll away. Highly recommended.

The mains were expensive for the small portions. The stroganoff had very small pieces of beef and was lacking any flavour. The salmon was again small and dry in texture. Chips were good, though and the was beer excellent. They definitely need to improve the quality of food when they're charging 15 for mains.
