Lovely delicious food and great staff! Chrissy kept us entertained all evening and the smoked salmon was lovely, and the fish and chips were huge! Would definitely recommend!

Very friendly, helpful bar staff. Small, but nice selection of hot lunches which, the leg of lamb and haggis chicken were of a very good standard (sandwiches also served). Lovely large outdoor seating area opposite (where dogs are allowed). Good parking at the front and in Embleton village. Prices, about average. Would recommend

Lunch yesterday as a party of nine - we were given a small private room which was perfect meaning that we wouldn't disturb other diners. Service was lovely both friendly and timely and the food was superb - we would return if back in the area

Warm welcome, great stay. From the friendly greeting at Reception, to the well-stocked bar, to the high quality cuisine, we were delighted with our stay. Christine in particular was so pleasant and attentive in the bar and restaurant. Rooms are great too, as are the comfortable and well decorated lounges. The beach and spectacular views of the castle ruins are only a short stroll away. Highly recommended.

Food was excellent and all reasonably priced too. Delicious and fresh fish and wonderful service! The waitress who looks like Anna Maxwell Martin was the loveliest lady by far. She was so so kind and attentive and not to mention hilarious. Would one hundred percent recommended a visit.

Excellent Sunday dinner. Nice beers, lovely dining areas and dog friendly area also. The pork dinner was great, and fire roaring which was good because we were soaked through from a walk on the beach!

Had a two night stay at this fab hotel which is in the process of being upgraded. A comfy bed in a spotlessly clean room, superb food & the friendliest staff you could meet. Can't recommend highly enough - and it's great value for money

Wonderful, simply wonderful, in the aftermath of Storm Arwen we had over 60 hours of no heating, lighting or hot water. The hotel shared on local social media the use of showers for free. It was great to feel properly clean again

What lovely staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here and felt covid rules were well observed. Will definitely go back when we're next in the area.

The mains were expensive for the small portions. The stroganoff had very small pieces of beef and was lacking any flavour. The salmon was again small and dry in texture. Chips were good, though and the was beer excellent. They definitely need to improve the quality of food when they're charging 15 for mains.
