Had to park a long way from hotel in pay and display. Door locked on arrival at 5p.m with a bit of a wait to be let in. Staff effusive and ebullient rather than friendly. Room had a distant view of castle, small plastic tube shower in en suite, leaking sink tap. Bed had broken buttons protruding sharp plastic on the unwary sleeper. Could hear other guests conversation and other sounds through walls. Evening meal excellant : radio 2 playing for background music. Breakfast ample and speedily served from 8. Radio 2 again with staff singing and whistling along.

From the moment I stepped into this hotel I felt welcome. I was travelling alone with my dog pippa and I can honestly say from start to finish the staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Pippa had lots of attention and even a doggy welcome pack. The rooms were equipped with everything you'd need, with a fabulous breakfast in the morning. The breakfast had so much choice, I felt truly spoilt. The hotel is in a fabulous location, me and Pippa have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you

We booked the hotel over new years and took our puppy. As a family with 2 small children and a dog, we found their family room lovely. The breakfast was good. A nice hot breakfast as well as a nicely stocked breakfast bar that included hot croissants. The best thing about this hotel though was it's amazing staff. From the outset from booking til the time we left the staff were amazing. Well trained, respectful, courteous and helpful and of course all very nice. Made my family feel welcome. Thank you so much for making our trip even more amazing.

A lovely little gem with very welcoming & wonderful staff. The place was super clean. cozy & comfortable. The hotel is in a great location fantastic views iof the castle, the beach 2 minutes by car and the town centre is only a 6 minutes drive. I loved the interesting eclectic decor, art and lighting and the colours & the textures of the soft furnishing fabrics used through out. The breakfast was excellent the dinner menu looked great.

Unfortunately our stay was cut short by storm arwen and I can honestly say I've never been so sorry to leave a hotel. Lovely surroundings, lovely people and lovely food. Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We will be back in Bamburgh in 2022 to see the castle and there will be no need to search for suitable accomodation, I will simply plan my stay around when we can stay at the Sunningdale. Thank you very much, hope all is ok after the storm and look forward to coming back. Andy Webb

Would give 4.5 stars, but can't do half stars. Friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Evening meals also very good. Our first trip away with our puppy, and we found hotel very dog friendly. Close to centre of town and beach a short walk away. Rooms could benefit from more storage and the storage could be updated. Parking spots can't be guaranteed. Overall, however, the feel of the place is great.

One night stay, and it proved itself - we will be back. The room was clean and comfortable, had a restful night. Our meal was perfect, my wife and I absolutely enjoyed the meal and spent 3 hours eating, drinking and chatting that night. Breakfast as well was really good. Overall, a wonderful experience and out little dog agrees as well.
