Only a stone's throw from the imposing spectacle of Bamburgh Castle, a short walk from miles of unspoilt, golden beachline and only an hour from both Edinburgh and Newcastle this unique hotel manages to combine a charm of years gone by with all modern amenities.

Such a peaceful 2 nights away. Staff were very attentive but not overbearing. I expected a smallish room with a single bed but got a huge room with a kings size bed.it was heaven and the view from my room was stunning. Highly recommend Blanchland and the Lord Crewe Arms, especially if you like your walking.gentle or hiking, wonderful walks in the North Pennines.
I did feel food worked out expensive but all freshly cooked and mainly home grown (you get what you pay for and it was delicious).you have to try their cheese platter.yum! Thank you Lord Crewe Arms, I feel ready to get back into work mode again.

Called in for an unplanned lunch opportunity, due to poor weather. Staff were understanding and most helpful, including providing a revised menu for gluten-free options. Food immaculately presented and perfectly cooked. Setting is perfect in ancient stone monastery room. Everything was excellent, except the price! Maybe twice as expensive as it should be. C'est la vie! It remains memorable.

Food was delicious but service was diabolical. Forgot to offer a drinks menu, forgot to take a drinks order, mains came before a drink did and then couldn't find anyone who could take our payment for nearly 10mins. I wouldn't go back as other restaurants in the area make just as good food but offer a reasonable price. Also once the bill came the service charge was on, requested to change the amount but that couldn't be done without finding someone else to change that. Reluctantly paid to just leave by that point

The rooms were well laid out, there were bath robes with lots of toiletries in the bath room, coffee, tea with biscuits available in each room and there was the obligatory Screen Tv. The bed was comfortable and the comforter kept you really warm. The rooms were very good but in a rustic way. Breakfast was good with a decent menu and fairly quick service. The staff here were very helpful and polite. All in all a good place to get away from it all, very relaxing.

We had a couple of nights away in a dog friendly room, just located opposite main hotel building. Suffice to say the stay was excellent, dog bed and treats supplied, very very dog friendly in hotel. Excellent local walks and the food in restaurant is excellent. The menu changes subtley from night to night.the lemon posset was sublime. Top marks

We celebrated my dad's 83rd birthday with a beautifully made and presented afternoon tea at The Lord Crewe Arms Blanchland. The food was freshly made and of exceptional quality, all served in a beautiful room with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and professional, making it a perfect location for a special treat and a must do when you visit Blanchland. Thank you to all the team for making our day such a happy experience. We look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended

Lovely hotel with great staff. Stayed in a Canny room with plenty of space for two small dogs. Beds, bowls and dog towels provided which meant could travel lighter than normal. Alice looked after us for both evening meals and good selection to chose from. Other staff were helpful and friendly too. Surrounding area is beautiful and need to go back not just for the hotel but for more walks.
