Just demolished the big breakfast here literally fighting for my life currently. Delicious! And lovely staff!

Right on the A1, but you would not know it. Room all have lovely views and inside are clean and modern. Perfect hub for exploring the area.

Fantastic location and most importantly clean and comfortable beds. Just a quick one night stay but would definitely recommend and stay again!

Friendly staff, great views and good food. Strange smell in our room. Told staff but we didn't want to move room. Would go there again.

Was not a planned stop and the staff had just been invaded by an unexpected coach load. They were apologetic, as I had to clean my table, but that was fine. Took a leaflet as may book a stay next time we travel north.

Very good accommodation on A1. Rooms clean and adequate in size. Staying here for two nights. Choice of breakfast fare, took the full English which was substantial for me. Also choice of continental, cereal, porridge, etc. Book a table for dinner and be treated to great fish and chunky chips, or something else from their tasty menu. We have our dog with us and it's been no hassle. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.

Loos clean and tidy and better presented than last time I visited, one of ghese days I'll have time to stop for more than a bathroom break. Don't read that to mean that service is slow, it's just my schedule. Nice to see repairs to local access roads and resurfaced car park.

Very clean place, bit small for a truckstop(yes l know it isnt one really) & only 1 shower, but the foods good & reasonably priced & not alot else if travelling North up the A1.

Whilst staying at the nearby sister company Warenford Cottages, we decided to have an evening meal here in the restaurant. On booking we were asked to provide our menu choice by lunch on the day, which meant on arrival after a drink in the bar we were asked to move to our table and exactly on time all our eleven meals were brought out to us all piping hot and cooked to perfection.

Also the deserts were very tasty, especially my choice of sticky toffee pudding with lashings of custard. The service was first class and I would definitely recommend a visit if your in the area.

Had pre booked as part of a party of 9. Arrived at about 10pm with a very friendly and welcoming member of staff who gave us all the information we needed. The twin room was very clean, tidy and suited all our needs. The breakfast was very easy to order and the waitress was very professional as we're all the members of the team. Should I be back in the area I would have no problem in staying here again.

Always nice friendly local service. Canny breakfast, good mains, good stuff to take away too. Like service stations used to be and how they all should be. Not a golden arch in site. Keep up the good work.

Only 3 loos. Be prepared for a wait. Sandwich filling was lovely but I think the bread was past its best as the corners were quite hard. Coffee is so hot. Be warned.

Worst place I have ever been, waiting for ages with a cold cup of coffee and a Luke warm cup of tea to be handed the wrong order. prices are expensive for what you get, I'm seriously at the point of leaving and asking for a refund. you'd be better of eating from the bins outside in all honesty, food was barely warm and all I could taste is grease I literally took one bite and that was it. absolute waste of time and money! do yourself a favour and go somewhere else!

I didn't realise it was possible to make coffee which tasted as disgusting as this. How do you achieve foam on what was essentially hot, brown water? An achievement in itself. I almost had a whole mushroom on my breakfast, but not quite. The food must have been warm at some point, but that was long before it reached me. Toast was anaemic at best. Tables were dirty, & staff seemed genuinely shocked when asked for a cloth so we could wipe it. V disappointing for the prices.

Just at the side of the A1 busy place lots of people use this establishment. Staff are OK tables were not clean food expensive but OK. Coffee OK. Was surprised by very little attention to covid rules. Car park rough ground for lorries tarmaced for cars. Standards have dropped since I was last here.

This has been the second time that I have used the Restaurant here. The 1st time I had a Chicken burger and it was so dry that I struggled to swallow it. It was obvious that it is the lowest quality possessed chicken I have ever came across. The young staff was not attentive at all and the no customer service skills at all. Two young girls both clearing one table was more interested about having a totally inappropriate conversation with each other to realise that a customer on the table next to me was trying to ask when they will receive the cutlery since it's been over 10 minutes since their food was brought to the table.

The lady had to go to the counter to ask again. Well so this time around I thought give them a second chance, I ordered fish and chips and waited 40 minutes, there was only one other table so not busy at all. Eventually I received my meal, the batter was nice and crisp, the chips over cooked or cooked and kept warm the peas drowning in oil from the fish and once I cut into the fish (yes fish not Cod or even Hadock) it looks like it was quickly defrosted under hot water or a microwave before it was battered.

This has done it for me! I would rather have a pot noodle than eat here again. Come on guys fix this! How can anyone serve rubbish like this? You all lacking passion for your job. If you don't have a passion for serving good food with great customer service then change your profession, because it shows.

Although not that busy, service was painfully slow when we ordered and paid for our breakfast on Sunday morning. I'm not sure if the young girl on the till was new, but whatever the reason she was very slow and seemed 'unsure' of what she was doing. We ordered 1 breakfast with added black pudding and 1 roll with just black pudding, plus 1 tea and 1 hot chocolate.

The hot chocolate arrived first and was only warm so was sent back and replaced. The tea arrived next which was correct. Then came a roll with bacon and black pudding which was sent back to have the bacon removed. (I assume they made a fresh roll rather than just remove the bacon because it took a wee while to come back and was very good). Lastly came the breakfast, which I had eaten most of before I realised there was no additional black pudding that I had asked for.

To be fair, the food was very good, well cooked and presented, and the price was reasonable for a "services". The actual accuracy of the order was what really let it down. In hindsight, i should have just taken the bacon off the black pudding roll and added it to my breakfast, it would have made up for my missing black pudding (from my breakfast).

Not to bad a little place, it pleasantly surprised me. Its no bates motel. Staff were very nice when we entered, the facilities themselves are clean and the smell of bleach was very evident. The bed wasn't to bad however it was very hard. The rooms are small however they do have a great view of the fields behind and there is no noise from the a1. I have give 3 stars for being basic however it is more 3.5. Cant complain it did the job.

Nice clean place friendly staff excellent food the chips I had with my burger were the best I've had in a long time Prices are very good you get plenty for the price. Even the soup was freshly made not from a tin and you get a large roll not a small thing. Recommend to anyone for a stop of. 5 stars all the way.

Travelling along a main road it gets rather boring stopping off at service areas and getting the same old coffee places and burger bars. We were surprised coming across this hotel/restaurant/coffee stop. The coffee. Tea area is fantastic with many tables and comfy chairs. Service is self-service but the choice of cakes, sandwiches etc phenomenal. Friendly service. We were lucky as we arrived just before a couple of coach parties on their way to Lindisfarne. Nice stop off and, as I said, a nice change.

Room was clean and simple. However the dinning experience was plain sad. Fried or pasta dishes are the correct choices for this restaurant--not sandwiches. I ordered a steak sandwich for around 10 which contained the sum of about 2 thin slices of beef and some mushrooms. It was quite dissapointing. So a great place to stay, but not a place to eat.
