Fantastic location. Beautiful gardens. Excellent friendly staff. It was an absolute delight to stay at Dumbleton Hall. The whole ambience is one of care and recuperation. Wholeheartedly recommend you pay a visit and sample the delights.

Dumbleton Hall is outwardly impressive with its idyllic setting, with sheep out front, hills behind, and landscaped grounds. Staff and management were beyond accommodating, supporting us with our requirements. However, the interior needs work. It's in shabby shape with rooms not all fitted for modern requirements. Carpets in our room were on the dirty side, our family room lacked a bath, and there were only two plug sockets in the corner of the room.

There was no air con in rooms but staff were quick to provide us with efficient fans to blast away the stuffiness. However this did mean we had no additional plug facility for use of the kettle, phone charging etc. Food was okay. Young compliment of serving staff who perhaps could use a little more hospitality training. Housekeeping service could also do a little more when it comes to making rooms feel fresh and well provisioned.

As a guest I felt the emphasis was very much on hosting weddings, rather than weekenders looking for a relaxing getaway. That said, our large family party were well attended to by kind and helpful staff. It was nice to be able to stay away with our dog too, who is also an important family member! Overall it was nice. Not a luxury competetor with many other grand buildings in the hotel business in anything except location.

I get the sense it's due renovation and that's what they're working towards. For the time being I recommend it, with caution - manage expectations before you go and you'll have a fair stay in a beautiful place.

After originally booking our wedding for March 2020 and it being delayed due to covid the team were fantastic at supporting us through each rearrangement process as we worked through different dates as restrictions kept changing. The wedding planners, both Sarah's, were extremely attentive and guided us through the wedding planning phases. Both were genuinely excited and interested in making our day special.

Something that was extremely important to us. During the wedding all staff were fantastic, constantly going the extra mile even though suffering staffing issues. Special thanks for Josh the duty manager, on the day making sure everything went smoothly, that we always had a drink in hand. The food was outstanding throughout the whole weekend. Our day was truly special thanks to every member of the team and the true beauty of the venue.

Dumbleton Hall Hotel is a real gem! The building is truly gorgeous and the grounds well manicured and beautiful. (The daffodils are in bloom at the moment and wow!) I have always been well looked after when I have visited and the food is delicious. Highly recommended!

Lovely setting and a true country house hotel. We found our room to be clean and well furnished, the bathroom was excellent. The common areas of the hotel do show signs of needing some TLC; chipped paintwork and a generally slightly "tired" look to the place. The staff were unfailingly pleasant and cheerful, and we enjoyed our full English breakfast.

We stayed there mid-week in late March and the nearby hillside was covered in daffodils in full flower. In a sense, the exterior leads you to expect something more upmarket than the interior delivers, but that notwithstanding we would stay again.

We had an overnight stay at the end of last week. Dumbleton Hall is an impressive building as you make your way up the drive. The gardens are beautiful with some lovely walks. Yes, it is dated inside and in need of redecoration but you can see where money has been spent on updated bathroom and bed and bedlinen. The staff on duty were very pleasant although they were understaffed (dirty linen in the hallway during our stay).

We booked our evening meal in the hotel restaurant and could not fault the food. A good choice, well presented, beautifully cooked and piping hot. The same for the breakfast the next morning. It would be nice to return in a few years when hopefully we can see more updates in the decor.

What a great stay. Fab hotel with amazing drive and grounds. The staff were fantastic without exception. They care about their guests and that shows in all their actions. The new owner is lucky to have such a strong team in place.

The Hotel is beautiful and the surrounding s are breathtaking however the rooms are shockingly dated. The food was outstanding. It's more catering for Weddings now which is disappointing for the average guest, we tried to book a weekend but every single one we tried to book over the year had a wedding so was forced to use our vouchers for dates we didn't want before they went out of date.

My wife, son and I spent two nights at the Dumbleton Hall Hotel. We had a beautiful spacious classic family room with a great view of the gardens. The food (breakfast and dinner) was absolutely fabulous! The staff was warm and very friendly. The lady at reception and Carol - who looked after us at breakfast - deserve a special mention. Thank you to the staff for a memorable holiday!

Last minute post new year getaway. Only perhaps 10 rooms being used by guests so VERY quiet. The building is beautiful, however the bar area is cold and a little unwelcoming. The lounge where apparently the bar used to be is a strange "walk through" that is even more unwelcoming. The 1970's style electric fire placed in front of the log burner was a bit odd, and we assumed they didn't want to light the real fire for so few guests which was a shame. However, the real fire in the main reception area was lovely.

Dinner was simple fayre and quite reasonable. Nothing fancy here. Beeakfast was nice (and hot) but the waitress, whilst efficient, was a little too efficient, bordering on the military. In summary, a lovely venue for weddings, but totally lacking in atmosphere generally for non-wedding guests, and so we won't return.
