Bagden Hall reeks of history without speaking of it. It sits in a beautiful location, although the weather really helped and doesn't seem amiss with its newer building additions. But I've marked the rooms down due to peeling laminates in the bathroom and the outside door to the rooms being unlocked, which also had rotting panels. Yes I know you can lock your own room door, just expected a higher level of security to the rooms. Service and food were very good. Breakfast was your standard fare, in my case a full English. All in all a lovely day and night in a beautiful spot.

Visited for a meal for a birthday. Beautiful building and grounds, spotlessly clean, extremely friendly and attentive staff. Food was amazing would definitely recommend and re-visit

Great people. Lovely hotel just up the road from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Room very clean, good double bed. Good breakfast choice. Would use again.

Lovely, but you're paying for the upkeep of the Hall. The rooms were just Travelodge-type rooms, down to the hangers! Not really worth the extra 30-odd

We enjoyed a deluxe afternoon tea, and it was perfect. We had been waiting so long for it due to covid restrictions, and it was well worth the wait. They were happy to swap a drink for hot chocolate because the wife does not drink tea or coffee, and they provided a jug full, which was about 8 cups in total. Some venues charge you extra to switch from coffee or tea.

For coffee, they provided a cafetiere, which again must have been 6 cups as well as providing another cafetiere without charging anything extra (like other venues do). You were able to pick two different sandwiches from a selection. The staff were helpful and pleasant and never rushed you into finishing quickly. The quality was well above other venues visited for afternoon tea, and we would highly recommend them.

The grounds are lovely to walk around. As some have pointed out, there is a field nearby with cows so you get the occasional whiff but it is seldom and not overpowering so I wouldn't count it as a negative. We stayed two nights. Dinner the first night was very good and the dinning room cozy. The included breakfast had ample selection and was really good except the coffee was served in a porclyn pot so it came out just luke warm and was cooler still once it went into one's cup.

What really spoilt the mood both mornings was the selection of background sound. In a classy place you'd expect soothing music, maybe even classical piano, but it was the morning news of death and mayhem. As we were the first in the room, we asked the desk if it could be changed to music and both times they complied. Pop music was better than depressing news.

The rooms in the annex were a little worn. I expected period furniture but it was standard Motel 6. There wasn't a sitting area. There was no table or shelf in the bathroom to put one's toiletries and no extra racks to hang towels. The TV remote needed batteries. The view from the window is over the parking lot. What saved the stay, moving it to four stars, were the attentive staff, good food served at the afternoon dinner for a large number of guests, the large room for the evening party, and the cozy dinning room that did double duty as the wedding venue. It wouldn't take too much to make this a really grand place.

Came here last week for a loved ones Wake. Fantastic, polite staff and excellent service, particularly Danielle and the Chef. I don't know his name. They managed to produce and serve some fabulous GF sandwiches and a selection of GF cakes, with copious amounts of tea. which was served in gorgeous tea set. They looked after me really well. Thank-you.

Christmas 2021! We've never gone away for Christmas before, what an excellent decision it was to come to Bagden Hall! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The afternoon tea with prosecco was delicious and a lovely opportunity to meet our fellow guests. The buffet in the evening was freshly prepared and offered meat, fish and vegetarian dishes After a relaxed breakfast we returned to our room to open presents; the room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom On our way back to the restaurant for dinner we had a chat with Father Christmas!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, generous portions meant we took our cheese and dessert grazing plate back to our room! More food was provided through the evening if anyone had space left! We headed home after a cooked breakfast this morning. We have had a wonderful, relaxing time, the quality of accommodation and food for the cost was incredible. Thank you to all the fantastic staff who took great care of us.

Lived in the area for years but only just visited. Went for afternoon tea and had a great afternoon. Lovely food, clearly all made in house and on the day. Very reasonable price. There was a wedding on the time which seemed to be going well! Lovely building and nice looking bar inside. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Stayed here when I was away with work. Its set off a country road and is a gated hotel. The hotel was a country house at one time and has a large garden an outdoor terrace. Rooms are nicely appointed and come with the usual room ammeneties. The restaurant has seasonal specials that change on a regular basis. I opted for the 3 course menu. There was lots of choice i went for salmon gravalax for starter, the cannon of lamb for main and cheese and biscuits for dessert.

The salmon was served with dill and was tasty. The lamb was served with seasonal veg and dauphinois potatoes and was served perfectly pink. The cheese and biscuits were fine ith pretty main stresm cheese choices. They do a good breakfast with everything cooked to order as well as specialities such as eggs benedict, smoked kippers, poached eggs and classic smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Its a nice hotel and one which i will definitely stay in again.
