It's nice 3 star hotel. We get quite room as much as was possible as hotel is really busy. Great team in reception, very friendly and happy. Good place for staying 1 -2 night, parking spaces available. Nice location, easy to get to. 100% recommended

We stayed for a night in Hotel Devencove. First the positive aspects of the hotel The location was great, it was close to all the restaurants and we just had to walkin to Mother India restaurant (in Scotland). There were plently of other cuisines within half a mile. The staff was very extremely helpful and courteous. I have to give 5 stars to that.

They were really patient and kind to my requests. We got 1 room in the basement where the toilet flush was not working. Luckily we got the room changed. Thanks to the staff. The next room also had some minor issues but it was all resolved. The breakfast was too good.

Room OKish until we were in bed and could feel the wall move everytime people next door leaned against their head rest, can hear absolutely everything, even next doors videos on their phones, traffic noise, EVERYTHING! Pillows are paper thin, mattress is VERY old and used, hair found in the bath, dirt marks in the bath. I recommend staying elsewhere.

TL;DR - Good value hotel with great staff and location that could use some updating in the rooms. Stayed here with my wife for two nights in early May. After a long drive from Liverpool we arrived at the hotel an hour and a half before check-in. We had to pay a small 10 pound fee for early check-in. Not great, but understandable. The first room we were given, Room 302, had a couple of issues: the bolt on the door would not lock and the wifi would not connect when in that room.

The front desk staff promptly moved us to a new room which fixed both issues. The rooms themselves are tidy, but old and could use some updating, especially the washroom. Being from America, we are accustomed to larger showers. The shower in my room was very narrow and the floor would get wet every time from water dripping from under the glass partition.

To prevent the floor from getting soaked, I had to use the handheld shower head and crouch down in the corner against the wall. The staff was friendly and location was great. There are so many good restaurants just minutes away and there are bus stops right outside the hotel entrance. You are also near Kelvingrove Park.

The Devencove is currently going through a refurbishment. The room I was in was very newly done up to a lovely standard. The continental breakfast has a great selection to choose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely use the Devencove as my Glasgow base in future!

Rooms clean. Staff pleasant. What has let my visit down was the 100 pound deposit put on the room. And to be refunded 10 days later. Why? I just wouldn't come back as long as that imposition is in place. My stay fee was all paid on line previous to check in.

My car was damaged in the private car park by hotel staff admittedly by the hotel manager, I asked for the CCTV straight away they refused and then in 5 days got police involved and they said they the deleted footage after 7 days despite me asking them not to do so right away. All along the staff informed me the hotel will sort this out for me. It never happened and now I am 500 quid out of pocket.

Among other things the hotel was filthy, booze and sick all over the public areas and stank of cannabis. Rude staff and dodged everycall. If that all sounds like your idea of good hospitality, knock yourself out. literally.

Came with a couple of mates. The staff seemed friendly although slow at responding to our needs like asked about having an extra duvet as the room was bloody freezing as the heating only comes on at 6pm. Even then, it is still cold. The breakfast was rather underwhelming as not a fan of cooked breakfast. Only good thing is choices of beverages like hot chocolate and peppermint tea.

Also the staff were understanding when wanted to change the channel on the TV as Katy Price came on and we strongly dislike her! The parking spaces are terrible! My friend couldn't get her car out properly as an unauthorised vehicle was in the way. Later on, no parking spaces left. The staff never cleaned our rooms when we were out. The safe was useful as a chocolate teapot.

The good things- was the some of the staff were nice, like when my friend accidentally scratched the neighbouring car as awkward to get out the car park. A staff member rang the owner and he came to move the car. Also surprised there was a bath, although in an awkward position as struggled to get out. As the photographs of the room had walk in showers.

The beds were comfortable, although had to share a bed with a friend which I am not used to, yet I share a bed with my dog at home. Managed to get most sleep and were warm especially as the room was freezing. I am surprised the place allowed dogs and could've took my dog after all. But didn't as my dog doesn't like being in cities and like to go off lead.

The rooms were in general nicely decorated. But the duvet was marked with stains of various descriptions which the staff changed when asked too, the smell of people smoking in the rooms was also terrible.

Absolutely amazing and friendly staff, rooms basic but clean perfect for the price paid, spent more on 3 drinks each that the cost of the room for the night. Would stay there again. Warm friendly atmosphere, the staff were the best thing about the hotel

Hotel very handy for Hydro. Bed and bathroom clean. But room itself left a lot to be desired - shelf above radiator hanging off wall. This is indicative of the run-down nature of the hotel. The continental breakfast barely adequate. The free car parking is very small, difficult to manoeuvre car in safely. Will not return.

The one extra star is only for the front desk staff who were friendly and attentive with great recs for restaurants. No complaints there First, the wifi does not work outside the lobby. I reported it twice and they reset the routers but it never worked. If you're in town on business this is obviously a problem. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the mattress was obviously decades old with springs you felt in your back all night. Also, the light situation is ridiculous.

You have to keep your key in the wall slot to keep any lights on but it's also the only way the sockets stay powered on in order to charge your phone. I had to manually unplug the lamps and unscrew lightbulbs as to simultaneously charge my phone and sleep in the dark. And forget turning off the bathroom light and fan. Never did find the switch for that.

I would have called down to ask but the phone in the room would not connect to reception. There is a good deal of street noise even on the top floor from poorly sealed windows. The walls are also very thin. Every time my neighbor opened their door it sounded like they were coming into my room. Overall this hotel just needs a major upgrade. I like a unique old fashioned hotel but modern conveniences have to work in order for it to be worth spending money there. I wouldn't stay again
