It was ok. The room was different and nicely done with a few nice touches but it doesn't warrant the price of the room per night. We did mention the issues we had in reception but we we were told the issues we have had is all down to the building being listed. I don't like leaving reviews unless I've given the said business a chance to put the issues right but sadly in this case they didn't want to know. 1) Pillows are far to soft with no medium or hard pillows as an alternative.
We both woke with stiff necks and shoulders which are still sore three hours after leaving. 2) The room was far to hot and it took a while to get to sleep. When we told reception in the morning they advised they're is a fan in the wardrobe, they're isn't, I checked. Sadly because the window needs to be open fully to combat the lack of A/C/fan you can hear the traffic from the road outside and people coming back not only to this hotel but other hotels after a few drinks in the pub.
We had the joy of listening to a drunken couple at 3am (the man was called Alan as his female companion shouted his name several times making all aware who they had woken up) 3) You can hear every word and every activity from the rooms close by. We were on the top floor of three rooms and could hear everything and I mean everything from the couple below. ( we nearly went for popcorn) 4) From the the very moment you walk into the room they are trying to sell you something. Teddy bears and toiletries seem to be the main ones which make you very unsure if you can actually use the shampoo and shower gel provided just in case you get a added bill.
All in all it isn't for me as it isn't a proper hotel really, more a upmarket b&b with only security at the end of the phone after 10pm if you occur any problems or need a fan or harder pillows, I won't be returning.

Ok. So expensive rooms? Yes you'd expect it with the location and decor. The privacy is good in the church suites. Tbh I'd expect a bit more of a room service experience. Being told you can keep the complementary slippers. If these where embroidered with the hotel as a reminder of your stay it would be a nice touch. However these are like 2 per 10 pack very thin slippers.
Some of the sockets and plugs aren't straight and in a room of 400 per night you'd expect I bit more attention to the finer details. It was a very nice room. (The fantasy suite). All the rooms and suites look impressive. Id say pick a room with jets in the bath. Or a hot tub to make it feel a bit more worth the money. Overall pleasant stay. I think with just a bit more attention to detail and a better approach to the customers experience whilst there would make a huge difference. But you are still impressed with you walk in the door.

This is an amazing place, and i literally couldnt find anything to moan about! Accomodation first class, area beautiful, staff helpful and accomodating, lovely little extras. Our (Seduction) Suite was outstanding - mood lighting, massive bed, huge bath with tv, walk in shower, double sink, really cool decor. Well, as expected, i highly recommend!

Cranleigh boutique is a lovely place to stay, very convinient location and only a few minutes walk into Bowness on Windermere. Staff are very friendly. Stayed in room 1 which wasn't an ensuite but didn't realise at time of booking and as the doors were loud felt like we were disturbing guests when using the bathroom. Good variety of breakfast choices and was lovely. One thing to point out there wasn't a lot of guest information and were just referred to the app which wasn't easy to use.

We stayed in the escape suite, fabulous luxury, massive bed top notch fabrics, big TV as there's not a lot to do in Bowness, in Autumn in the rain, with Netflix included. Spa bath with TV over. Fabulous choice of breakfast items delivered to the room at my prearranged time. Discreet lighting, rose petals on the bed on arrival, what is not to like.
If there was another star I would have awarded it. The only thing missing was a lake view, but it's not on the lake, it's a two minute walk to centre of town. The only drawback, the spa is not on site, only a short walk but we couldn't be bothered. I would recommend.

A mixed review on the Utopia Church suite. Been wanting to stay for a couple of years with the wife, not what we expected and not worth 350 a night to stay. No air conditioning and very hot rooms. Not a good night sleep with the banging doors as the location is on the ground floor with the main access to all Suites next to bedroom and some people upstairs slam the front door and it has the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in.
The bathroom was very nice and what we expected, the toiletries that are in the room are very nice and smell amazing. It does have a great location though right in the heart of the town. Missing thermostat cover and mold, sealant missing from sink.

A lovely hotel. Really chic lobby area and friendly Receptionist. We stayed in Standard Suite 4. Everything was clean and the bath products smelt gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious! Locally sourced products. The only downside was that the room was so hot (even with the windows open). We had to turn on the portable air conditioner all night so the noise did not really help.
