Had our daughter's wedding here and couldn't fault the venue or service. Ann the wedding planner was amazing and kept everyone calm with her efficient manner.nothing was too much trouble. The room where wedding was held looked beautiful and the meal was excellent. All staff were amazing. Thanks for making our daughter's day so special.

A lovely place, although I was there for a funeral, so not viewed at its best. But the staff were friendly and helpful

Lovely large comfortable room, great buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. Suggest a room at the back of the hotel, street facing rooms can be noisy.

2nd floor bedrooms very shabby! Most foods on the menu weren't available so chaotic at dinner! Lovely staff doing their best under difficult circumstances

Room No5 is split with Room No6 by a pallet style wall, you can here every word from the next room. Kept up all night by the guy snoring and could here every word spoken. 55 a night to share a room with a stranger Basically.

Love to hide in the Lounge Bar when town is busy. Nice to have a glass of wine in peace. The light bites menu at lunchtime is good value and a decent choice.

Had a lovely stay over a difficult time. Nothing was too much, friendly staff. Thanks to the restaurant staff on New Year's day and to the manager, and Shirley at breakfast. Will definitely stay again.

Went here for evening meal. phoned and booked restaurant. When arrived told we had to eat in bar as we are only booking but when we phoned told other reservations. We also had to order food by 7.30pm as kitchen closes. I ordered chicken chorizo starter which was cold so they took back after dropping some on my clothes they totally ignored this. They brought it back and as you know chorizoo over cooked is dry.

They had put back in pan and cooked again not fresh. They took away and took off bill but I wanted a starter. I had gamon which was turf but potatoes nice. We also shared the bar with staff using as canteen one person had pasty in Tupperware box. We told manager dissapointed not in restaurant he said he had to look after bottom line. Not happy paying restaurant prices for this. manager not interested. Judge for yourselves if you want to eat here.

I stayed at the Castle Hotel during a trip to Wales and had dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel. The menu was straightforward with traditional Welsh and British offerings at a reasonable price. The interior is warmly decorated and slightly dated which adds to the ambiance. I ordered a simple burger. But wow - it was amazing! The burger was made with fresh locally-sourced Welsh beef, and you could easily taste the quality. Topped with cheddar and nothing else, the natural flavour of the beef shone through. This is how you make a burger! It paired perfectly with my pint of beer. I would travel back here just to experience that burger again!
