Well well, no longer a Best Western and the worse for it, but some great things remain, the Neighborhood bar is great with the same brilliant bar manager as always, fantastic. The rooms are boiling hot, no fan, and no fridge, pencil marks on the wall from a recent refurb, really done on the cheap, poor. Breakfast.well.if you want to be shouted at by a highly stressed member of staff while she drops plates, cutlery etc then this is for you, what a stressful start to the day, for the first time in my life I sacked off a breakfast I've paid for and went for a relaxing breakfast in a lovely local restaurant.
And if you're from another country forget any attempt at a helping hand, and also, breakfast last orders at 9.15? What the! Awful. Sadly after 20 years it's curtains for us here, but I will pop back to the Neighborhood bar for my fix of the real Edinburgh

Had a lovely weekend break staying at this hotel. We arrived early (about 1.30) and our room was ready so they allowed us to check in early (check in not till 3) the receptionist was very helpful and friendly! The room was clean, nicely decorated and spacious with large windows which made the room very bright with beautiful views over the meadows.
The location is also great in a very green and peaceful area a short walk from the centre. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options to choose from (I had full Scottish breakfast (haggis, black pudding, potato cake, beans, tomato, egg, mushroom, sausage and bacon) and scrambled egg, smoked salmon on sourdough toast the following morning. My only criticism is 10 per night seems quite expensive for parking, instead we used the park and ride which was only a 30 minute bus ride away

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and will not be back, the rooms and ensuites are dusty dirty and not even hoovered, there was even dirty socks from the previous person in the room, the en-suite had dried toothpaste beside the sink and toothpaste splashes on the tiles and mirror, the shower plug had pink mildew around it, the cleanliness was appalling, we were assured this room was checked and passed for cleanliness as this was the second room we were given as the first was also just as bad. These examples are only to list a few.

Waist of 140 for 2 night stay including 1 day brake fast. Absolutely shocking and very dirtiest place I ever stay in my entire life. Booking was made for 13th and 14 th February 2022. The first room which was given to us was big and when we went to check the toilet it was so disgusting that I went straight to the reception to change the room. The toilet seat was cover with urine from the previous guest, tooth brass spot in the sink and in the mirror. Toilet floor was very dirty and birth got black marks.
The lady reception apologies and told us she will change the room and it's all been checked. Completely lie. We went to the room 137 and it was a nightmare. Old socks from previous gust was found. Toilet not cleaned at all same urine marks in the toilet seat and shower glass made me fill completely sick. Completely ruined our days. Stay away from this place if you are clean person. Never recommended to any one

Booked an executive room at 100pn for 3 nights. Room definitely large enough but tired and needs the refurbishment which is in the process of happening. Always felt a bit gloomy inside irrespective of the time of day and had to have the lights on most of the time. Location is good and Bruntsfield itself is great for coffee shops, eateries and independent shops and the large park opposite. Walked into the city centre most days and caught the no 16 bus back to the hotel. Would stay here again once the refurbishment is finished.

Good hotel which was reasonably priced as was the breakfast. Located not to far from centre. Parking is very very limited and the on street parking is both expensive and time limited to between 2 and 4 hours with no option of extending this. Staff were good. Our only problem was the room was right next to the kitchen extractor fan which gave a constant drone from about 6am till late.

Stayed for a night and it was pleasant. The lady on the front desk was so friendly and really went above and beyond to help us without us having to ask. The room was nice, quiet and large and had a fan provided in the warm weather. Breakfast was really nice! I feel the room (especially the bathroom) could have been cleaner as there were quite a few hairs on the floor and in the bath & shower.
The car park is also much too small and annoying that you have to pay to use it (though perhaps if it was free it would get too full). However overall I was pleased with our choice of hotel.

Really nice hotel. Staff really helpful. Would recommend a room away from front of hotel due to passing traffic. Was very hot so the windows were open. Traffic is fairly constant. Breakfast was spot on with good variety. Something for every kind of taste. Wee men loved that they could have coco pops and then a fry up. happy days . Would recommend a stay. Fairly central, with most things walkable of fit for it.

Stayed three nights. Found hotel to be Covid secure. Good location within a walkable distance to city centre either through the parks or via street. Excellent service from ALL staff. Food quality very good. Quite rooms allowing a good sleep. Very comfortable bed. One slight downside is the limited parking if you are driving. If we ever return to Edinburgh would happily stay here again.

The hotel and staff were brilliant, ideal location the big down fall is the lack of car parking, obviously the hotel can not increase the amount of spaces they have due to space but it is certainly an issue, I could not get a space on arrival and be aware that all the on street parking is pay and display ( limited to two hours) or permit holders only.
You can park on the street after a certain time but would have to move or pay by 8am the next day, if you are on a weekend stay you are able to park nearby without restriction after 5.30 pm. Not generally one to moan but I specifically wanted on-site parking.
