The Beach Hotel together with the Regency Restaurant date back to early 1828's when the restaurant was Lawson & Son jewellery shop and the hotel was St. Alban's Hotel. In 1930 Lawson & Son jewellery shop became the Regency Restaurant and the hotel was renamed The Beach Hotel. The Beach Hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard yet still in-keeping with the Regency era. In the dining area you can enjoy a full English or a continental breakfast, while enjoying the view over the Brighton promenade and the British Channel.

The worst. We were tempted because of the location but was shocked how bad this place was. Cockroaches, noise, bad staff, no sleep for 2 nights, desperately in need of updating, TV didn't workshower was under the stairs and designed to make it difficult to use. The place is a joke. We changed rooms but was even worse. We were told by the manager to get drunk to get sleep. We wanted a short get away and we left frustrated, tired and disappointed.

Only use if you are on a stag or Hen because that's all its good for. The place is a dump, don't know how it's still standing. The walls all move where they've been repaired so many times and the decor is really dated. I've never stayed in a room with a glass bathroom door where everyone can see you go to the toilet before either untill now and wouldnt like to again.
The staff are so aggy they just don't want to be there and I understand why. And the breakfast ( if you can call it that ) was a joke Hard bacon, sausage that are obviously cooked over and over again when they are not used, scramble eggs swimming in water and crusty beans. Nothing else on offer apart from tinned fruit and old cornflakes. Overall I wouldn't stay again even on a stag party! The place was just to dirty and run down for my liking.

It needs some TLC, it's very dated. We had a nice see view and the bed was comfy, sheets were clean although ripped in places. I had no issue with cleanliness but there was rust in the bathroom. The staircase to the 4th floor was so narrow that I struggled to get to the top floor. There is an old school with a gate you need to shut. It works well but I wouldn't recommend this place for families.
It was fine for me and my partner as we just needed a place to sleep essentially. Some staff really friendly, one of the breakfast staff wasn't friendly at all. I really don't like the key policy, you have to hand it in when you go out, so we were out and I wondered if anyone was going through our stuff. Also the doors aren't all that secure, you can them from the outside without a key if you don't lock it properly. I didn't hate it, probably won't book again though :

Horrible place, falling apart! Do not recommend, contacted booking.com and they couldn't get a refund. I got there with a room that has nothing to do with the pictures, two single beds attached to eachother instead a double bed. blood in the wall in the bathroom, sofa chairs literally broken, heather wasn't working and they put a tiny electric one which barely could heat. We moved to another hotel, but I'm still shocked that they didn't refund me. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL!

PLEASE do yourself a favour and do not stay here if you value hygiene and comfort. I have never seen anything like this 'hotel', and the only way I got through the night is to treat it as a joke. I left for home immediately as there was no way I was using the rusted bathroom facilities. The hotel management seem to think that stained, broken, dusty furniture and upholstery is acceptable.
There are wonky printed out signs everywhere throughout the property staying things like 'guests must wear shoes' (?!) and extra visitors in the rooms being forbidden (doesn't take much to realise what that's for). Really, really depressing and bewildering in equal measures.

Very nice hotel! I stayed there with my fiance and 2 other friends! we originally booked 2 double rooms but by mistake the receptionist (trainee ) put us next to each other in a family room and a double for my friends! after few around we had a call from reception saying that they check us in the wrong room. As a receptionist myself I explained to them that it was too late to move room but anyhow we did it!
They at the end gave us 60% discount on the room rates! English breakfast was amazing! and staff members very kind! the toilets are very big and really cleaned! the rooms doesn't smell at all! Absolutely going back to that hotel whenever I will stay in Brighton

This hotel dates back to the 1830's so there is plenty of history within it's wall. However, recent refurbishment means that some of this was lost but to keep up with the times it was well needed. This place felt like an OAP which for a short time can be very interesting but you wouldn't want to spend the night with them. This is one of the cheapest places to stay in Brighton if you want a hotel and not an even cheaper hostel which you share a room with anout 20 other people.
The cheapest price of 22.50 which includes breakfast is almost cheap enough for me to stop my lease and live there permanantly. Certain rooms have balconies which overlook the see at night which is worth a few quid extra and en suite facilities in every room this place is perfect for budget holidays. 5 stars because it is so cheap!

This hotel dates back to the 1920's. It was called the St Albans back then. From the breakfast room one can enjoy the views of the British channel! All the 30 rooms are styled in Regency era decor. All rooms have full en-suite facilities. Most rooms have a sea view. Family room are 90 a night. A single room is around 35 a night. Look out for midweek offers.
