I haven't used this hotel yet, but the owner was very friendly when I popped in to enquire about room availability. He even boasted that his rooms were much nicer than the neighbouring Amblecliff's - unfortunately for him though, Amblecliff were cheaper and able to do a one night weekend stay. Will keep Alvia in mind for future visitors.

What a find! This is a clean very stylish hotel. It is about 2 minutes from the sea front(you can see it from the front door) It is about 10 minutes from the centre(although there are lots of fantastic shops to browse on the way into the centre) This hotel is modern and my room was fabulous. A small entrance with a full length mirror, a bathroom, fully tiled, with a great shower, plenty of storage space and excellent lighting.
The toiletries were very high quality and left my skin feeling smooth and pampered. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed, tv, cd, player, large wardrobe complete with safe. Desk, and easy chairs. The soft furnishings all matched and had clearly been chosen with care, this all added to the charm of this lovely room. The staff were really nice.
Nothing was too much trouble and I felt like I really mattered and that they were really pleased to have me as a guest. They offer a choice of three breakfasts full English, continental and a vegetarian. Breakfast was unhurried and the coffee was topped up regularly-just what I needed! The crockery was all white and as stylish as I had come to expect. I chose this hotel from a recommendation from MSE on cost and location. I am delighted I did so
