Enjoyed a lovely late afternoon, into dinner at Abbey Hotel. First thing we saw when we came in was "we dogs" so def a winner for our dog Laddie (who enjoyed the biccies). Warm and friendly welcome. Menu had good variety for a meat eater/veggie combo. Little pricey but food and service def worth it. Would recommend. X

We enjoyed a birthday meal here, the food was amazing and large portions, the cocktails were pretty good too!

Excellent range of wines, beers and spirits. A little over priced but you get what you pay for Friendly efficient staff and very good food. Highly recommend the Sunday roasts which are reasonably priced. Nice garden. too.

It's a good bar and generally friendly. The staff are very accommodating to our group. The prices are a bit of a concern and have been noted by some of our members. At a time when people have much less money in their pockets it is likely to have an impact.

Keep Michelin away here. It's very good, cozy and homely. Wonderfully cuddy. Praise the chef in the kitchen.

Food was okay, no complaints that end, was quick and tasty. service with a smile would have scored a higher rating. Most the girls taking your orders look miserable and barely spoke a word to us when we popped in for lunch. Kinda felt antisocial. if your going to be front of house the manager needs to get the order takers to work on their people skills.

One blond waitress (sorry, didnt catch her name) did check in to say hi to our dog and she seemed more bubbly. Maybe have her at the front of house to greet, would make a better impression on your customers, rather than the cold, awkward reception we got.

Conveniently located hotel with a busy bar/restaurant. We stayed just the one night, and the room was very clean and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable, and although there wasn't a shower the room had a large en suite with a big deep bath. The hotel is very dog friendly and the staff work hard to keep everyone happy. Breakfast was included and was awesome.

We had the full English, and it must rate as one of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever had. The Sunday roasts are supposed to be amazing, so I will be back here for certain!

This beautifully warm and welcoming hotel restaurant. Happy to serve a glass of water, or tea, or coffee as much as the wonderful restaurant menu. Lovely atmosphere, charming and friendly staff, delicious food. This gem of an Oasis is worth a visit no matter how far the journey. Not to mention the Hotel accommodation and beautiful summer garden. No effort too much, no detail unattended. 10 stars would be nearer the mark. Enjoy.

We had a really nice meal, served by very friendly staff. Great selection of meals on the menu. I had the vegetable pie which was excellent. Very dog friendly and it was nice and warm near the log burner. Definitely recommend

We arrived around 6pm on Monday 3rd Jan to find that food had finished being served at 5pm (It was a bank holiday). On hearing us ask about food. the chef, who was at the bar and about to go home very kindly offered to stay on and get us a meal. It was wonderful, venison pie and vegetables, a lovely meal and we were so grateful to him. We didn't see him to thank him but if he's reading this, THANKYOU SO MUCH The Abbey Hotel is so warm and cosy and very welcoming.
