Bay View Inn The Bay View Inn is an award-winning hotel, bar and restaurant overlooking the Blue Flag beach of Widemouth Bay in North Cornwall. The Bay View Inn is a freehold, family-run place owned by Lindsay and Graham Soulsby and Stuart Shaw. The Bay View was the first place in Cornwall we frequented many years ago and became our 'local' for over a decade as we explored Cornwall on our holidays.

Naturally, we never thought we'd own it. At the end of each holiday, we just daydreamed about moving down here finding a job and making this our local all year round.
Services
The Bay View Inn overlooks picturesque Widemouth Bay, a mile and a half of golden sand and one of Cornwall's top surfing beaches awarded Blue Flag status in 2017. So whether you're planning on popping in to see us by car, train, plane, bus or flip flop, here's our guide to getting here. Pop our postcode in your Sat Nav: EX23 0AW.
The Bay View Inn is an award-winning, family-run hotel, bar, restaurant and contemporary Cornish art hub overlooking the Blue Flag beach of Widemouth Bay in North Cornwall. Our address is The Bay View Inn, Marine Drive, Widemouth Bay, EX23 0AW. We are less than a 2-minute drive from the centre of Bude; 30 minutes from Tintagel, known for its medieval castle; the market town of Holsworthy lies 13 miles east, with Dartmoor National Park around 45 minutes' drive away.
The Bay View Inn restaurant is one of the biggest and busiest in North Cornwall for a good reason: not only do we offer one of the finest sea views anywhere in the world, but our relentlessly creative kitchen have established a world-wide reputation for transforming the finest local ingredients into scene-stealing dishes all of their own.
Cornish fish and seafood centric menus, complimented by choice meat and progressive vegan/vegetarian dishes, are now the order of the day. There are many more options on the menu to this, but given the fluctuating cost of ingredients we can't promote things that we may not have when you arrive. This includes the specials board, where you will find things like Cornish mussels or our fish pie.

We came for lunch just before the crazy storm kicked in. They are dog friendly which is always a bonus. Really lovely friendly staff and delicious food too. Beautiful views too.

Popped in after a walk along the coast. A gorgeous view. Nice setting and great that it's dog friendly. Sadly a very poor cream tea. came out clearly fresh from the microwave. A hot and soggy scone for 8!

Visited to have drinks on the terrace. Staff really friendly. The terrace has great views of the sea. Drinks reasonable priced. We enjoyed our visit and can recommend.

Went for a family kid-week evening meal whilst on holiday in North Cornwall. Having used the Bay View for over a 25 years under various different owners I must say what a transformation. Lovely update to the property with the same breathtaking views. Food was epic and suitably large portions after a busy day walking. Some reviews comment on the dog friendly approach being a negative however what a breath of fresh air with no stuffy rules around the dogs and felt very welcome. Would thoroughly recommend and we will be returning. Thank you for a great meal and experience

Unfortunately this place despite the new owners and effort put into this place it's nothing like it use to be. The charm and character of the place has gone :( the food is mediocre and pricey. 10 for 2 bags of crisps, a J20 and half a coke. Note the padlock on the playpark gate so you have to go through the building to use the park (via the disabled ramp for prams, despite their being no disabled route onto the terrace or park area) I carried My pram up and down and was worried in the case of a fire in the building, we'd leave the park if the gate was locked The bay view was always a successful charming surf type pub, with a relaxed feel full of locals and visitors alike. It no longer has that feel and its been very quiet on several occasions.

Had a family meal in Restaurant. Food was OK. Lucky we had cash as signal to card payment dropped and they were unable to process the transaction. Not sure what they would do if we had no cash. It meant they had a slightly less gratuity. They have a nice children's area and ample parking.

Delicious food. Owners and staff went out of their way to make a lunchtime Valentines meal very special, making sure we were happy with everything as the food was brought out. We didn't feel rushed despite tables having to be prepared for the evening. Highly recommended.

Had a meal from here last week quick service friendly and a great view but very limited menu and far too expensive starter consisted of 4 prawns wrapped in filo 7.95! fried squid starter 8.95! scampi and chips 16.95! Sausage and mash 17.95! two drinks total 60 NOT value for money we won't be back now we know why it was light on custom such a shame it would be full up if the prices were more reasonable

Wonderful place with really good food for everyone and excellent service. Our party had two vegetarians, three vegans and one gluten-free and we were all well-catered for and had interesting choices. The menu was also pared down because there had been so many cancellations owing to the COVID situation. We were a family party of seven and felt very safe. Thank you.

I discovered the Bay View Inn on the second evening of a recent trip to Cornwall the food, staff and atmosphere were so good that while we were there we booked for every evening for the rest of our stay. The staff really are friendly and can't do enough for you. The location is stunning overlooking Widemouth Bay and with plenty of outside seating to enjoy the beautiful views.

The food was absolutely fantastic, so much so that if I lived close by I'd be there at least once a week. One evening I tried the gammon steak which was a monster of a meal the gammon, which itself was a 12oz whopper and at least 2 inches thick, came with double fried eggs, pineapple rings, onion rings, chips and salad. It was all delicious but needless to say I couldn't eat it all.

The portions are massive, the quality of food is excellent and the price is more than reasonable, I'd definitely recommend this place and if I ever find myself in Cornwall again I'll be making a bee line for the Bay View Inn!

The Bay View Inn serves the best food within 10 miles of Widemouth Bay. The quality of the food and the reasonable prices makes it popular, so you will need to book a table a week in advance. amazing food, massive portions, fair prices. you will noy regret going here!

We regularly take people to this particular place. A great pub with really good food - and thanks to the large windows and conservatory, the view across Widemouth Bay is stunning even if the weather is a bit rough. They have a large car park and it's suitable for families or large parties. The menu has some really interesting items on it and they change it around quite regularly.
