As early as 800 A.D. Harrona Rachid had isolated the power of the use of aesthetics and beauty in carrying a message across thousand of miles and great distances. For this reason, the poets and artists of Baghdad were some of the greatest that the world has ever known. The Arabian Nights were written in his honour and Harrona is immortalized in them.

Went for a coffee and hot chocolate to have whilst looking at the fantastic views. Although the drinks were very nice, they took nearly 20 minutes to be made (only one person In front of me) Had a baby with us and needed to change him to find out that they had no changing facilities, but I was free to change him on the ladies bathroom floor! Not really acceptable in this day and age, has put me off going there again

I traveled to this location with a couple of friends for a vacation. We stayed for one night and loved it! It is an older hotel with an older hotel feel (but without, thank goodness, the "we recently removed the smell of cigarette smoke" smell that so many old hotels have). The rooms vary depending on what you booked and the "en suites" are small, but it is an incredibly interesting hotel with amazing views of the coast! We hiked up to the castle ruins in the morning and then walked down to the village - it was an absolutely lovely stay.

Most wonderful setting with far reaching views. Amazing food and very friendly staff. The sea view room was really large with a four poster bed and antiques. Food in the restaurant very tasty. After a few days we moved into a 3 bed room apartement with sea views. It had all the amenities you can think of, washing machine, wood burner and actually the best flat I ever had been. Really nothing at all was missing

We've just had the most incredible few days staying here. This place is beautiful, it has a grand feeling but with a really lovely family feel to it as well. We had a sea view room and it was magical, the room seems newly refurbished and it was stunning. The housekeeping team were kind friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much. Breakfast was lovely too. Would 100% recommend to family and friends and will be returning.

My Mrs. and I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Our room (214) was one of the best in the hotel as suggested by some of the staff, and there opinion was exactly right. Fantastic views, and a fabulous en suite with a full size bath. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. There is a rather unique art collection throughout the hotel, painted by the resident artist/ co-owner.

Beautiful grounds, incredible sunset, food was decent for breakfast and dinner. Definitely a funky spot, not lux accommodations but for $100usd for one night it was fine. Room was stuffy and smelled mildewy when we opened the door but after putting essential oils in the shower and opening the windows the room aired out. Sometimes I'd rather stay in an old non-renovated room than a chain-hotel for the same price. plus Camelot Castle Hotel was used as the exterior of Dr. Seward's asylum in the 1979 John Badham directed Frank Langella "Dracula" film! Bonus!

Spent the worst New Years Eve in this 'hotel'. Ears being pestered by the terrible music from a DVD of one of the owners poems (with, naturally, sales at the bar). Food was mediocre. As the previous reviewer states, the rooms were tiny with a plastic cabin as the en-suite. Service was so poor. Never again

I ALMOST booked a couple of nights here but instead went for the Headland Hotel in Newquay - what a lucky escape! We visited the Camelot for afternoon tea because we were curious about the place, having heard all sorts about the shabbiness, weirdness, scientology owners, odd art works and celebrity photographs. Mistake to even go for tea - the water was brackish and the tea difficult to stomach.
The scones were old tasting. We had 2 scones, but could only eat one (struggled to eat that despite being hungry). The decor is dire, the furnishings a joke. The style is - jumble sale poor and pathetic - not stylish eclectic quirky at all. If you are in the area, believe the poor reviews and stay elsewhere. If visiting the TIntagel Castle on the neighbouring headland (which is fabulous!), I recommend no-one visit the Camelot Hotel for refreshments - instead get pasties in the village!
