Rooms were rustic, charming, but very basic. At first we had had no shower curtains. Food was really delicious.

Ideally situated for local shops, Thurso Town centre and the beach. There are bus stops close by as is the rail station. The hotel is fashionably decorated, where visitors can relax in comfortable chairs and couches at reception area or the peaceful library. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable beds give a good night's sleep. My evening meal and breakfast were delicious, served by efficient and friendly staff. Reception is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable and efficient members which make check-in/ out seamless. Any travelers wishing to visit Thurso and surrounding area would do well to keep this hotel in mind when planning their trip.

Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms were a good size and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. I had no problem with noise during my stay. There is a bit of street parking in front of the hotel and there is also a car park down the street.

Stayed with tour group, one of first after COVID restrictions lifted. hotel was really cool and very unique hotel! Rooms little dated but it seemed part of the charm for sure. Breakfast and coffee was great, had fish meals for dinner several nights and it was all fantastic. Service was all good despite everywhere having staffing challenges and our mostly American group being somewhat big. Would recommend

Best Sunday lunch for ages. Great selection of meats, lovely vegetables, vast sweet table. Superb. Thank you to the chef and waiting staff, a great visit.

Went for a quiet drink with my wife. Very disappointed to see the female manager/supervisor NOT wearing her mask around staff standing up and moving around. This is a simple rule for everyone to do their bit. Poor attitude for a manager and no respect for public health nor the thousands that have died of this terrible virus. Rest of staff were brilliant. Very unprofessional! We left.

Well situated for the train station, spacious and an amazing breakfast. Rooms are a little dated, it was necessary to move a small chest of drawers to plug in my phone and the shower gel is stored outside the shower. Friendly staff upon arrival and for breakfast

The Sunday carvery is always excellent but on this occasion there was an inordinately long wait for drinks and a couple of our party didn't get the correct drinks at the first attempt. On a side note, I thought there could have been more hand sanitiser about the place, especially at the dessert cart where serving spoons etc are handled by multiple people.

The food and service at the pentland Hotel was perfect. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and relaxing, the menu choice, price, quality and quantity is just how it should be and very delicious. We were served by the joyful Maureen who is super friendly and efficient, she made us feel very welcomed and valued, and a reason in itself to return. Thank you

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel. It was very dated and we couldn't wait to leave. The room was awful. Dirty carpet. Sticky surfaces. Needs a major make over. Advise you not to stay here. Staff were friendly but unfortunately hotel was dire. Be warned!

The food was good and the staff lovely & very helpful, but I think we were very unlucky with the room, it was quite dismal, I needed to stand on a chair to open the windows, they were high up near the ceiling, there was no drawers at all for clothes so we lived out of suitcases. There was one other lady who complained about the fan noise from to the kitchen below, it was very loud.

The Rooms weren't tidied at all, not sure why, we were there for to three days. The rest of our coach party did seem happy with their rooms, so I think we got the short Straw.

Great place to stay, the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the very comfy beds provided a few amazing night's sleep. The included breakfast was lovely and Maureen was superb nothing was too much trouble for her. This place is definitely worth a visit/stay if you're in the area

I know there aren't a lot of choices when you get this far north in Scotland, this was an "OK" hotel. Our room was pretty small, our bed was a bit lumpy, our view was of the back roof of the hotel and some other buildings behind the hotel. Our shower had an issue where it wouldn't drain, they seemed to have fixed that by the second night which was good as we were worried about it overflowing if we took too long a shower. The meals were pretty good, overall, "OK".
