Very helpful staff. Entrance to car park could be better not really what you expect from a good hotel, but as I say the staff more than made up for it.,

Had a call nearly 2 weeks ago to say our booking has been cancelled, they refused to book us into the other Best Western in Chelmsford and are not refunding still! Something very dodgy going on, different excuses every time I call. No replies to any emails I've sent chasing it. You can't just cancel and decide to keep people's money! Avoid!

My wife booked this hotel for a weekend birthday present, combined with a meal out in Chelmsford and cinema visit. On the Wednesday before we were due to go with only two days notice the hotel cancelled our booking for refurbishment. They must have known before this and no effort was made to find us somewhere else in Chelmsford. Lousy customer service would not recommend this hotel, they ruined our weekend!

Very good. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Good room amenities. Excellent location.

We stayed to attend a wedding locally and were upset that the bar had to be attended by the night porter at 10.00 pm! On the website the blurb said there was a bar. And the bar stays open until the last customer leaves usually. The beer was not on at all! I think the hotel was more interested in the economic migrants taking up half the rooms. So I would not recommend this hotel.

Good breakfast friendly staff good location for town and station

We stayed here Christmas Eve and Christmas night. Had a lovely warm greeting on arrival from reception and a free up grade which was lovely. Very clean and posh looking hotel throughout, couldn't fault it. Room fully stocked with coffee and tea and a coffee machine which was a nice touch. Another friendly greeting at Breakfast and the breakfast was lovely and tasty and compliments to the chef on the pouched egg and grilled/oven tomato (as all the hotels we stay in the tomato is always raw). We will definitely book here again when visiting family next time. Keep up the great work and thanks for working over Christmas to make our stay so great

Stayed here for my friends daughters wedding reception. The young lady on reception was very friendly and very helpful. Hotel is basic but rooms were a goid size.

Highly doubt that this should be classified as a 4 star. First of all on arrival the room we were sent to was not cleaned. Imagine walking in to someone else's mess. Then we moved. For our ENTIRE 2 days and 3 nights stay our rooms were not cleaned despite us even leaving a please clean my room sign outside. I was flying out after I checked out and had so many deliveries and packages that I had in my room, all I needed was to come back to a clean room.

If I had that hoover I would have done it myself. On one of the days we left and the cleaning personnel was on our floor so how she decided to skip my room I will never know. Awful experience. Also their breakfast is not nice. Needs improvement. Far from a 4 star.

Good hotel with friendly helpful staff. Executive room was really nice, Standard rooms very tired! Breakfast very good value when booked in advance.

Let's be fair, if you claim to be a 4 star you need to be better than the premier in 2 min away. very disappointing stay as the facility and experience was not of a 4 star facility. The staff were very nice but don't turn up expecting a 4 star facility. At best it is a 2 star room and breakfast facility.

I went during Covid restrictions and was a bit new to the changes. The hotel is modern and the rooms done in modern style. For a work trip practical but for a gateway lacking character and charm. I certainly didn't spend much time in the hotel. Location wise the hotel is very good for the university and city centre. Your about 10 minutes from the train station on foot and everything else. Also be mindful you access the carpark at the back of the hotel from a side road.
