Pontlands Park has 35 beautiful bedrooms, complete with all of the facilities you would expect from a three star hotel, plus a little more, all designed to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The bedrooms are divided into five categories, Executive Double and Twin Rooms, our Deluxe Double Rooms, Superior Double Rooms, Four Poster and Feature Rooms and Suites.
The Restaurant and Lounge are decorated in a relaxed contemporary style that fits well within the traditional building. Comfortable chairs, plenty of natural daylight, free WI-FI and our friendly staff make it the perfect place for a get together with friends and family or to escape the office and get some work done, whilst enjoying a coffee.
Pontlands Park offers modern conference facilities in a beautiful Victorian setting. Conveniently located two minutes from the A12 east of Chelmsford, it is easily accessible for local and national visitors with ample free car parking. To start with 2 electric chargers in Carpark. Very welcoming friendly staff. Room spacious and clean. Not hotels staffs fault, but smelled of cigarettes. May have been previous smokers before us. Barstaff attentive, restaurant food well presented and fresh. Breakfast buffet fresh and plentiful. Nice strong coffee. Grounds are lovely. Would stay again.

My second visit to pontlands park for a corporate event. Staff are really good and nothing is too much trouble. Evening meal is fantastic, good tasty food in good quantities. Breakfast is very nice too! There is a nice pool adjacent that can be used and their outside seating areas and grounds are pretty and well kept

We had a lovely experience yesterday, 3rd April, 2022, at Pontlands Park. My family friend had her hen do here in one of the suites available. I've got to say the Hotel, location and grounds were beautiful. The staff couldn't do enough to please us. We had afternoon lunch and it was deliscious. Amples of tea and coffee. Highly reccommend.

Visited for a special dinner, small family group. They made it special. The chief is wizard of the taste buds and the staff are there when you need them. Friendly, helpful but not over powering. We did not stay the night, so can't grade the bedrooms. The building is spacious with character and history. I don't normally give a review!

Great service, lovely food. Although some of our group said the potatoes were a little hard and the lamb starter was very unusual. On the whole though we loved the food. The DJ was disappointing however, as in 2019 when we last went as a works Christmas party, it was a great DJ set with us all on the dancefloor all evening, such a shame. Karen x

Just shy of 400 for a superior family room for 2 nights (3 of us). Great breakfast and good standard of accommodation. I am afraid that's where it ends. Our 'superior family room' booked three months in advanced sat right next to a wedding marquee playing loud music into the night. If that was not enough our bed linen and dirty towels were not changed on our return.
When I complained I was informed of a small sign on reception explaining housekeeping was on request owing to Covid! I should have read it! Perhaps I should have but come on, perhaps you should have also told me when we checked in.

Lucky enough to have been The Father of the Bride 23/10/21. Superb day everything went like clockwork. Stayed Friday and Saturday night in a lovely room with a super comfortable bed. The food at the Wedding was fantastic, staff very attentive, polite and made the day a great success. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the Marque where the wedding took place was huge. Many thanks for all your help in making my daughter's day a great success

Portlands hosted our wedding, and they gave us the day we absolutely hoped for. They were professional and friendly from day one, and handled our unfortunate postponing of the wedding day without fuss. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful and made for absolutely fantastic photos. The staff ensured the day ran smoothly and we are very very happy with how everything turned out. Staff were all friendly and the meals were prepared and served in good fashion. Taking your order and bringing them to your table with a small buffet for extra items you may want. Swimming pools x2 could hold 3 ppl well for swimming and the jacuzzi was comfy. We had an issue with a noisy room next door but when we rang reception they dealt with it swiftly, simply amazing. Beautiful environment and facilities.

Lovely hotel set in the countryside outside of Chelmsford. Staff are really courteous and friendly, going above and beyond on helping out with special requests. The rooms are really spacious and well appointed. There are also 2 rooms with interconnecting doors allowing larger families to sleep in comfort. Recommended.

Secluded location, yet not far from the A12 and therefore good road links to London and East Anglia. Handsome building with very friendly and attentive staff. Met up with family for a meal. Food was very good. I couldn't fault my herb crusted lamb; it was tender and cooked perfectly. FYI Covid safe measures in place and felt very safe. Definitely have it in mind to visit again.
