Welcome to this elegant Grade II listed 17th Century coaching inn, set in the ancient town of Amesbury, just 1 mile away from Stonehenge. The hotel has recently been acquired by the McFerran family; it has had extensive alterations and refurbishment that has been sympathetically done in keeping with the building. The hotel is set in a half acre walled garden, complete with a Victorian ornamental fountain, as seen in the BBC production of Miss Marple (NEMISIS) staring the illustrious Joan Hickson.

My husband and I got married here on the 11th June 2022, and wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to Angela and her partner Lee for organising our wedding and with all the help and more to make our day amazing. They went above and beyond our expectations to make our special day even more so. Also we were in the honeymoon suite which was beautiful and very clean and comfortable. We would most certainly recommend anyone who wants to book a wedding and stay there to do so. Excellent and thank you again for all you did.

Having a quiet drink at the bar the price of a bottle when from 3 to 4 in an hour when 2 weeks ago it was 20.90 this increase within 1 hour i wonder what is happening in as being a customer since when it was silver service I Wonder if Brendon knows why local people do not use the place service at the bar was very good

Disgusting, disgraceful, paid 85 for the night and no breakfast, mould on toilet ceiling, also inside the shower cubicle, the chrome on the water pipe is all peeling. And the toilet bowl was loose and wobbly, the amount of light coming into the room was like leaving a light on, and let's not say anything about the pub next-door playing loud music and revellers coming out around 2 a.m 85.a night you're having a laugh.

We have recently had a wonderful stay here, and would highly recommend it. Angie and Lee were fantastic hosts and we couldn't have been made to feel any more welcome, it was like staying with friends. Also another special mention for Hannah and Grant who also work here, both equally as friendly and welcoming. We were given a lovely room, clean, tidy and spacious, overlooking their beautiful garden.
The bar area was warm, cosy and inviting with a roaring open fire and very comfortable. Due to attending a function elsewhere we were unable to dine for the evening here, but enjoyed a lovely home cooked breakfast the following morning. We had such a lovely stay that we are already planning to return for another visit. This is a beautiful setting used for weddings, to stay for business or just to relax and unwind. Thank you to you all for a lovely visit and we will see you all again soon :-

The staff were friendly enough, the bar is small but was crowded, this lead to a lengthy wait for service. They do have everything you would expect from a bar though. They catered for a party of 30 with relative ease from a set menu that we ordered ahead. Most of our group felt that there was not enough starter to provide everyone with a starter and the main Thai curry had the same problem.
What I ate though was enjoyable. Some of the desserts were still frozen when they came out, its understandable that they were not immediately fresh, but if they are not meant to be frozen dessert, removing them from the freezer early enough before serving to avoid this seems like a practical thing to do. On the whole, the food was decent and the atmosphere was good.
