Amazing food and staff The fish and chips were fantastic. The chips tasted amazing and the fish was beautiful. The dessert made the evening. I've never had such a good treacle tart before.

Had a lovely Sunday family meal. Carvery was excellent, staff too. Nice surroundings. Thankyou.

Had a lovely lunch with friends, couldn't fault the food. However, it took two hours to be served two courses. Think more staff are needed to make a more efficient service. The staff were running around like headless chickens. Another delicious lunch today with a healthy dessert too!

Booked a table in the restaurant for a Sunday, my friends called and asked if pizza was being served on the Sunday and they were told yes. So when we arrived we were then told Pizza was not being served and is never served on Sundays. The reason we booked a table was because our friend's son was celebrating his birthday and wanted to have pizza and so did we.

After deciding to stay and order something else the waitress who took our drinks order and food order clearly had no interest in being there and wanting to serve us, her attitude was awful and distant from showing any interest in us. The food we ordered was nice but the whole evening was spoilt by being lied to when booking the table and the service was just depressing and dull. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I will start by saying the food we received was very nice. However the place is let down by its customer service. Went for a birthday meal after a request from my son for good pizza for his birthday meal out. I rang to confirm the pizza menu was available on Sundays, clarified this twice before booking. When we got there there was no pizza available as they don't do pizzas on Sundays (the family next to us had exactly the same issue as they were told the same when booking).

The staff were extremely disappointed interested and rude response was just like we havnt done pizza in Sundays for ages when I said we had called to confirm I got a lovely eye roll in response and just told well you were told wrong. No apology for wrong info. She then just walked away. No menus given or anything. 10 min later I had to ask for a menu as she still hadn't brought them.

The several waitresses we had seemed rather bored to be there never came to check on the meal or if we needed more drinks. We did call them over to order more drinks in the end. Not sure we would return.

Rooms are very dated & in need of maintenance. The service was very below par. Breakfast which is included is only continental 6.50 extra for cooked breakfast this should be mentioned before you book. Oh & breakfast doesn't start till 0800! Won't be staying again.

Me and my kids came for tea last night and we was totally blown away! It was the best food I've had in a very long time, the tapas were amazing and such generous portions And the pizza was the best I've ever had lovely to see one of my sons friends doing the pizzas Jay was a lovely boy at school and now he's a pizza making genius! everything was top notch and we can't wait to return

Went to the restaurant for a Sunday roast and had a terrible experience. I'm sure the restaurant staff are great but must have just been a one off experience. The saving grace of my experience was the dessert. I recommend the sticky toffee pudding, it was delicious! I have a severe mushroom allergy which I mentioned to the server, requested for none to be in my food (I'm vegetarian with a mushroom allergy, not the best combination!).

They said with confidence there weren't going to be any, when the food arrived I get half way through and I have a reaction. Waitresses seemed like they really didn't want to be there and were unattentive. The guy serving at the carvery however was very lovely, friendly and wanted the best for the customers. Quite disappointing overall.

Quick and friendly check in, room ok spacious size, bed very noisy.only one bar of soap in bathroom nothing else! Room opens out to the carpark so can hear people talking and car's starting late night and early hour's only booked because it was included breakfast only to find out it's continental breakfast after you've booked it! Food was okay but be careful what your order, ordered garlic bread with cheese didn't come with cheese but ate it anyway as not a fan of send food back to the kitchen, you could blanty see it didn't have cheese on it but wouldn't take it of the bill! 50p!honestly I didn't care about the money it's the fact he wouldn't take it off the fact I'm paying for something I didn't have but yet still typed the full amount into to the card machine.

We booked for the Christmas menu and I can honestly say that it was the best Xmas meal out we've ever had. Visited before for the normal menu which is also FAB. Great service, lovely food - Vegetarian option was great. We stayed for cocktails in the bar which were great too.

Went with a family party for Sunday lunch. The service was friendly and attentive. A great menu with lots of choice and the food was excellent. Would definitely go again. Reasonable amount of parking, good access and clean maintained toilets.

Very nice food served. Poor bar service. Bar staff looked disinterested and couldn't even say thanks and goodbye on way out. After having a nice meal, bar staff wouldn't serve us drinks, cos building was closing at 7pm, we ordered drinks at 6pm. Not going again, very poor service. 4/10

This lodge hotel was just awesome in Derby. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They see to your needs. The food served at this hotel's restaurant is sumptuous and reasonably priced. It is a well visited place by many in Derby. Do visit them.

Attended for a family 'wake'. Car park in poor condition, made up for by the welcome once inside. Buffet was more than adequate, if a little 'beige and bland'. Worthy of another try if we are in that area again. Very good beer, clean toilets too.

Wonderful service and great food with lots of choices. My family came from a distance to join us for Sunday lunch and to celebrate a special birthday. We would like to thank the staff for being so pleasant, helpful and efficient. Sylvia & Geoff Birkbeck

Tried the Sunday carvery.average food but terrible service. The worst service we have had in a long time. Poorly trained waitresses. Had to ask for a menu even though we were seated in the restaurant. Not told anything about the carvery options. Didn't ask how our meal was. Asked for dessert menu but didn't get us one so we paid the bill and had dessert elsewhere l. Such a shame as we live locally and was hoping to have found a nice local restaurant.

We have stayed here a few times. I have to admit it is not as good as it has been in the past, but I guess these are difficult times for hotels & restaurants. The rooms are nice and comfortable, although the light coming in from outside made it hard to sleep as the blinds they use are not really the best design. The bar is great and the staff really friendly.

The food is always good in restaurant. The real downside was the breakfast - they only offer a continental breakfast during the week. We wouldn't have an issue with this if it was a better continental breakfast, but there is clearly not a lot of thought or effort put into it and the choices are very basic (the usual cerals, toast or croissants). For the price this is still a good value hotel but it wouldn't take a lot of extra effort to make it a great hotell

Awful service this afternoon. 2 hours for 2 courses is abysmal. There was lots of staff on but the staff were lacking in direction. It took over 40 minutes to order desserts and only got them ordered when I asked a passing staff member and more or less had to stop them as the staff were oblivious.

What a lovely place nicest pizza outside if Italy lovely room polite staff very nice
