Melbourne is a small Georgian town, recently rated in the top 15 towns to live in by The Times newspaper. Melbourne Hall (open Aug) and Gardens (open Apr to Sep) was home to Queen Victoria's first Prime Minister, Lord Melbourne, who gave his name to Melbourne in Australia. Thomas Cook was born in Melbourne in 1808, and it was from here that he organised his first 'Cook's tour'. Well worth a visit is the Parish Church, one of the finest in England, rated as 4 stars in Simon Jenkins' "England's 1000 best Churches" guidebook.

Excellent, as always. Always clean and tidy, including the front garden. Excellent 5g WiFi. Owners are very nice people. I cannot comment on the breakfast, because I'm not a early eater!

My Dad and I were stuck in the snow a long way from home, Beverly was kind enough to take us in for the night and we really couldn't have asked for a better host. Lovely rooms and food, made being stranded much more enjoyable!

Having been caught in Sunday's very heavy snowfall on an essential journey to Derby, we faced a potential night in our car, so we are indebted to Beverley for taking us in at The Coach House. A very welcoming and safe place to stay, with great rooms and a lovely breakfast - thank you again, Beverley for coming to our rescue!

I really enjoyed my stay at The Coach House. I stayed here for two nights and was pleasantly surprised as I walked in. The host was lovely and very welcoming. The room I stayed in exceeded my expectations and I felt that there was a lot of attention to detail. It felt very homely and I slept well as the bed was so comfortable I ended up being late for work. I definitely would stop here again and highly recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at this hidden gem of a guest house, in this most stunning location. Nothing was too much trouble from the hosts, who are more than keen to engage in friendly conversation and provide detailed knowledge of the local area. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the breakfast? Wow what a breakfast and indeed, something to really look forward to, which really finished our stay off a treat - most definitely want to come back here again that's for sure!

Warm and friendly hospitality. Lovely, clean, cosy rooms with all that makes for a comfortable stay. Very comfortable beds and lovely fresh bed linen. Breakfasts are very nicely cooked. Melbourne is a lovely little town with character and good shops and cafes giving friendly service. Can highly recommend the whole experience.
