Best Western Yew Lodge Hotel

I can't thank you enough for your warm hospitality. A large group of us were sent to your hotel from the airport at short notice. Despite 20 families arriving at 9.30pm you put on the most delicious food. It was amazing after a very stressful day with flight cancellations. All the staff were kind, friendly and patient. Especially the manager who dealt with the influx of guests so well.

It made such a stressful day much easier. I half joked that you had more staff on than the whole of the East Midlands Airport. Its great to see a restaurant /,h otel actually well staffed! Thanks again for everything. You were great.

Hotel was in the middle of building works. Smell of new paint everywhere. The worst part was a meal booked in the Marco Pierre White restaurant. Expecting a lovely meal, we were disappointed on ordering a pasta meal only to receive what I can only describe as a tin of Heinz's spaghetti with a breaded chicken burger on top. No taste or flavour apart from Heinz's spaghetti taste.

We then got a bill over 100 that was for 2 course meal for 2. They had added 10 tip on the bill which was not deserved. Disappointing evening. The spa pool was over crowded with screaming kids so relaxing was out of the question. Signs saying no running, diving or children in spa but all ignored. Children in steam room and jacuzzi and sauna. Come to the area every month and won't be staying there again.

I've stayed at this hotel many times now and have had no complaints, but I have to say I was really disappointed with the breakfast on my latest visit. The food was really overcooked, every fried egg on the tray had hard yolks. The tea was warm at best, I had to ask for sugar for my cereal - for a Marco Pierre White restaurant it was very disappointing.

Visited the spa with a friend who has a voucher. The service was good. Light lunch was a delicious small afternoon tea. The 'spa' was very small - thingy pool and hot tub, sauna and steam room and foot spa. A bit dated and tatty with many locks on doors and showers broken. Also, for the first hour the pool was full of young kids jumping in and screaming - not the most relaxing environment.

We were in training that lasted a whole week and unfortunately I was saddened by the food they served us every day. It was the same food every day. It would be good if the chef used a little imagination and they changed it. Otherwise the staff very nice and still smiling.

I was lucky enough to perform a wedding ceremony here at the weekend. Fabulous venue and simply amazing staff who went above and beyond to ensure the couple had a perfect day. One of the few venues I have been to where I was offered a drink before the ceremony. Thanks guys and hope I see you all again soon!

Nice stay but standard has gone down. Cracked sink in the room. Room was tied and after being upgraded because my husband is a diamond member a bit disappointing to say the least. Rusty shower head in the pool area ladies changing room. I tried to was use the shower after using the pool when the person in the next cubical put her shower on my water stopped so I just came out and had to shower in my room (really)? Pleasant staff mainly the bar in the bar area the young gentleman was very personable I would have employ him myself. Overall need to do better!

Absolutely thrilled with Marco Pierre Whites. The staff were friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was exceptional. We had a lovely afternoon so much so we booked to go back this Valentine's

Nice place. However says pet friendly.paid 20 extra to have my small dog here for 1 night but did not provide anything for her. not even a bowl.very disappointing

I held a remembrance ceremony for my deceased Mum at the Yew Lodge Hotel & from the initial booking to the event the customer service as been exceptional. Katrina has been so supportive with the booking and accommodated everything I requested. The room to the afternoon tea to the service from the staff on the day was exceptional!

Brilliant staff Jamie the star. Trouble getting on the Internet food was a good room nice and clean. Had e mail about free breakfast but no one on reception know about this. Pool area very good however the spar footwear not too standard as had a little accident slip on floor.

Great place for a new year's eve party. The food was lovely and served hot. The disco was great and really got the party started. We didn't care for the band (too loud) but the casino and photo booth were great additions. Staff are well trained and there were plenty to serve the guests. A great hotel. Thank you

Lovely hotel, still very quiet. Reeds Spa is great, pool, sauna and gym are just the tonic. MPW restaurant is great, large portions and a fantastic breakfast buffet.

Stayed for my wife's birthday and loved every minute. Room was amazing and the staff was friendly. Food was out of this world. Great spa area too that was clean and made the stay even better. Will definitely be staying again.

Had a leisure package for my 18th! Had a great stay over with a friend, dinner and breakfast was lovely! Added touch of my desert which was very thoughtful (pictured) spa and pool was very nice! Definitely recommend

Myself and my husband are currently staying here for our 4th wedding anniversary, absolutely amazing service throughout. The dinning last night was amazing such polite staff. The food was fantastic I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Really looking forward to spa treatments later we will definitely be returning if I could give more stars I would. I have been to the hotel before and loved the experience so promised my husband the same experience the second time. Must say I was not happy at all. We unfortunately had a very tiny standard room where we could barely move freely without bumping into furniture. The furniture was not up to standard and the chair had stained upholstery. Bed was comfortable Which I loved but it the only thing I loved about the room.

We were unfortunately In the first floor and so we had the pleasure of the extractor fans humming the whole night outside our window. The staff are always lovely and professional can't fault them at all and food was lovely. I would probably still come back cos I do love that place and hope my experience will be better.

This is the second time I have stayed here and I had a fantastic time. The staff and the service they offer is absolutely outstanding, they are attentive and nothing is too much. They made us feel very comfortable and welcome. The Restaurant is lovely and the food is high quality! There was also a good selection at breakfast. The room could have been a bit warmer but this wasn't a major issue. The spa and treatments were great, and the pool area was clean and inviting.

Marco's restaurant was superb quality and very friendly and helpful staff. My daughter was made to feel welcome and important from the moment we arrived at check-in to the restaurant staff. Would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

This is the place to stay, brilliant amnities. kids are loving it. room service is sharp. spacious all in all. great parking and the steam room and spa are to die for. loving it too much

Brilliant weekend for my 40th arranged by my lovely friends, all the staff were friendly and genuinely lovely people thank you for making my birthday a special one! 10/10 love kelly xx

Just had my hen do here and honestly we had the best time! Couldn't fault a thing! The service was great, the food was great, the rooms were lovely and the staff was absolutely amazing! I would definitely go again, lovely hotel

This is the first time I've stayed here and it's alright! I'd definitely stay again if I was down here. +ve Marco Pierre White restaurant attached Rooms spacious Towels and dressing gown so good! Freebie toiletries are Elemis which is a fab brand Free WiFi It's clean -ve I found the gym a little too small. As it's open to members of the public as well as hotel residents it was a bit crowded and difficult to get to the equipment you want Right near the airport but you'll be alright if you bring earplugs. If you're quite tuned in to noise like that though it might be annoying.
